Is the field always this weak for the Canadian ? I din't think so from memory but only 22 players from the Open last week teeing up... Backing English/Swafford and Danny Lee each way, credit to Lee for flying to the UK as an alternate so hope he can be rewarded and move up towards the top 10 in the Presidents Cup rankings.

On the surface Kuch has to be an absolute favorite here, but is there any concern about an Open hangover? That was a pretty tough L to take, and while I think kuch is equipped to bounce back from that sort of thing better than anyone, hopping a plane across the atlantic and playing a tournament 3 days after THAT seems tough for even him.

When the tour schedule changes, it will be interesting to see where the Canadian Open winds up. Clearly British, Canadian, Firestone, PGA is not working out for the Canadian Open in getting the best field it can, but I'm not sure there's a good spot to move it.

There are great courses out east too, problem would be attendance.

 

Crowbush area, or Cabot cliffs /links. But they are not in populated areas.

 

Actually a good amount of our top courses are resort type courses and attendance might be the big drawback. So Toronto clubs and Shaughnessy tend to dominate

I also wonder with our short seasons how many club's members really want the event. There's a few courses around here that could host an event, I know I would be upset if my club did though

Rory was being overly controlling of both volunteers and fans all day. Spazzing out on the smallest things. Duke and his caddy were actually helping control the crowds for him to help his OCD. When duke was about to hit on a hole, Rory's caddy bag started clanking hard. Duke said Rory would have freaked if his caddy did that to him. Duke was actually on quite a birdie run at the time. Overall Rory's general demeanour and etiquette was just weird/rude all day. Duke got set off and they traded a few words, but ultimately it seemed they cleared up. Although a number of f bombs and what the hell are you doings were dropped. Dukes caddy is a character, had a quick chat with him as he went ahead to a tee

I was there today. Saw Bubba knock his approach on 16 to a foot for an eagle, then 10mins later Garrigus knock his approach to 3 feet for eagle. It was a great respectful crowd all day!

Aussie kid has a load of talent. He's obviously very young but will eventually be a multiple winner on the tour..Heir successor to Jason Day.
