My take away from watching the Solheim Cup:

-Some unbelievable golf being played by fantastic golfers with an exciting atmosphere all week long.

My take away from reading GolfWRX:

-18 year old Angel Yin's window to be great has already closed.

-Lexi's divots are too big and she talks to her caddy too much.

-Christie Kerr takes too long reading her putts.

-Paula Creamer is a mean a-hole. (Interesting that Paula is described this way but Patrick Reed is described as a "fierce competitor" who's perfect for the Ryder Cup.)

-Charley Hull's shorts are too tight.

-The crowd cheers too much.

-The players are too enthusiastic.

-Everyone is too patriotic.

-The TV commentators stink.

- And the whole thing is pointless because the Asian players weren't invited.

I swear some people could find a way to complain if they were handed free money.

you forgot to mention people going out of their way to use a well crafted bullet point list to critique people on golfWRX...

:)

when pointing at others, remember theres 3 fingers pointing back at yourself ;-)

Yet..............he was absolutely right.

Sniffles concedes the birdie, gets tons of advice, misses hers, but a good comeback, all the drama notwithstanding.

Love Nordqvist's swing.

So...you're telling people hey are word not alloweds and then to get on board with whatever pumps the player up...and then continually refer to Lexi as sniffles. Got it...

If by continually you mean twice, yes I called her Sniffles. It's the Solheim Cup, not scraping your knee at recess in kindergarten.

The rest, you misrepresent for no apparent reason. 1 out of 3 worse than Meatloaf.

I like Paula. However, I don't get the " come on". Wie does it also. I keep asking where we going?

Just get on board, what does it matter!?

I agree. But a guy needs to know what to pack!!!

LOL, pack light and hope you don't need any of it.

Creamer should have conceded that putt.....

I agree

Goal is to win the match, no obligation to ever concede any putt, let alone one that determines the outcome on the last hole, second match out and first match out lucky to save a halve, Cup not won at that point - Paula be wearin' the pants at your houses!

Tough cookie and great example of match play, win or lose.

Snowflakes falling early this year.

Paula: "This is a great win for me... and for women's golf"

:russian_roulette:

Wasn't there in the past a concession by Jack to give a half in a Ryder or Presidents cup that defined the overall result? That's sportsmanship and not to do that in one match when the US are significantly ahead seems pretty poor to me.

Nicklaus conceded a 2 to 3-footer to Tony Jacklin to end the 1969 Ryder Cup in a tie.

I was sitting on hole 12 and both Paula and the Europe player puttedfrom inside 3ft. They were putting out all day.

I guess every competition has to have a "bad" guy. So this time it was Paula Creamer not conceding easily a 5 foot putt. Last time it was Hull and Petersen not conceding a 18 inch putt to Allison Lee.. Had to have a new villain this year because the usual villain Petersen was sidelined. Wonder if Nicklaus would have conceded a 5 footer 2 footer good sportsmanship, 5 footer might have been taken as an insult..

Why does every conversation under the LPGA thread lead to; if it was Asia or South Korea... This competition is USA vs Europe. Just enjoy it for what it is. Does every NFL game need the Patriots. Can I enjoy the Premier league even though they aren't playing Real Madrid? It's a biennial competition between Europe and USA.

Really? Every conversation? I'm thinking hyperbole here

If you want to watch AAA baseball that's cool.

Kinda ironic isn't it? Do you post on the AAA baseball forums and bash the level of play?

Just reading that after playing a practice round yesterday that Catriona Matthew is now in the European team replacing Pettersen who is injured.

Tough break never want to see anyone out cause of injury.

This really sucks. I am not rooting for any team, just rooting for a good battle for the would be record crowd.

Although Suzann is no longer the best match player on the team ( Charley Hull is ) . She is still a stalwart of the team.

With Norquist running at about 60% , 4 Solheim rookies and Catriona Matthews having maybe her worst season on tour. There's a real chance Europe could be out of it before Sunday.

As I posted in the pick 'em thread a few days ago?

USA 18-10. And that is with them playing close in singles 7-5. USA will be up 11-5 going into singles.

Pretty darn solid prediction...Play the lotto next for sure/

I am totally enjoying the competition. Just one comment. I have watched pro golf for many years. I have never seen a hole location (#18) that close to the edge of the green. It looks to be 2' or 3' at the most from the edge. USGA recommends at least 4'. Just surprised. Thankfully it is in the back.

You need a bigger TV :) It was easily 3+ steps from the back edge.

I think he means it's coincidental instead of ironic, which is ironic in it's own right since coincidental doesn't apply here either. I believe you threw him off track when you compared the American Automobile Association's baseball team to the Euros and U.S. teams in the Solheim Cup.

Don't get me wrong I like watching LPGA when it's on but not EVERY thread talks about Asians being better even though they clearly are. That's what's hyperbolic.

Big congrats to the USA Solheim team & to Juli Inkster for captaining this team. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the coverage. The match between Anna & Lexi was extraordinary, and like many, I felt neither one deserved to lose. I was disappointed in Stacy Lewis and Michelle Wie, but really like Danielle Kang, what a personality. Of course, Angel Yin's length off the tee is amazing, looking forward to seeing her mature on the LPGA tour. As always, Lexi & Christie were a great team & didn't disappoint. Christie played her heart out with much younger players, as usual. I was super impressed with Georgia Hall, we'll be seeing a lot of her. The course looked great & the crowds were fantastic.

In all fairness to Paula Creamer, this was on the 18th green with either the USA captain and/or co-captains looking on. If so, they could've directed Creamer to concede the putt but also chose not to.
