Considering Zach Johnson, Billy Horschel, and James Hahn don't seem to move the needle much on the equipment side, I wonder if, with the addition of Ms. Spiranac, PXG is trying to be seen more as a clubmaker for ladies.

It could be argued PXG's higher-profile names (Lydia Ko, Christie Kerr*, Gerina Piller) play on the LPGA and Parsons stated he was focusing on signing women to gain tour validation and expand to Asian markets. According to PXG's website, their official "Brand Ambassadors" are Anna Rawson and now Spiranac.

I can't think of any non-tour professionals with over a million followers on social media sites who would be worth taking a flyer on over Spiranac if they're trying out the "influencer" game.

I really like that they introduced her with a classy looking photo without all the boobs and stuff. We've seen all that already. I hope they keep her that way, even though that's very un-GoDaddy. Something a lot more sexy about a woman that's got it but who's not waving it all in your face. She'll do well with this support and hopefully will earn her way onto a Tour somewhere soon. Good luck Paige!

Bob - Very smart businessman....you jealous? What would you do?

Paige - Perfect brand ambassador for these times...jealous? She put in the work to get where she is. Good for her

As most of us do we follow her on social media and I think she has a great swing BUT you can tell she's not interested in being a pro golfer for one reason or another, my guess is she's knows she will never be able to cut it on tour so why take that chance and she obviously cops a lot of slack which she cant handle all the negativity on her game and looks so why not make tons of $$$ without having to play and just take on plenty of sponsors which she has and no risk.

Why play the tour when you will probably not succeed and costs you plenty to do so, she's taking advantage of her looks and and association with big name people and companies, will life a happy and comfortable life doing so.

maybe this move will help her crack the top 1000...... :yahoo:

Aww no ones ever offered Joey2Aces a sponsorship based on his charm and appeal??

That's shocking news! :taunt:

ha

never...to start, I'm no professional athlete .....but then again I've never tried to really prostitute myself....

To wit, I can't seem to recall the last male professional athlete that's been sponsored simply based on his charm and appeal. I am glad that she found a home based on her looks... which, in today's PC world, seems to be accepted only in certain circumstances. There are plenty of women on the LPGA that should be considered for certain sponsorships but aren't.. .hmmmmm ... the hypocrisy of a certain group knows no bounds.

PXG have 77.5k followers on Instagram, 44k likes on Facebook and 21.9k followers on Twitter.

Paige has 1.2M, 228k and 160k respectively.

Easy to decision for PXG. Good on Paige, she has managed her 'brand' exceptionally well.

The good thing is he did not introduce this as a LPGA player signing. She is a Brand Ambassador. Which in marketing can be a totally different thing. Personally I am not a fan but she seems to have a decent on air personality and I am sure that translates well to corporate events.

I'd do it in a heartbeat if I had what she had and retire early to enjoy the rest of my life. Life is too short to worry about the small sh*t, and this is very small....

She's essentially the next Blair O'Neil and she's capitalizing while she can. Not a single person in this forum would do any different. If it was that easy to make it on the LPGA Tour, that's what she would do, but everyone knows the real money is in sponsorships and not prize money. Because of her bubbly personality and good looks, she's found a way to make a lot of money without having to actually win golf tournaments.

I doubt she is being followed for her social media skills and unfortunately as long as dogs drool this kind of thing will continually be exploited by companies and advertisers. I'm not proponent of it but I don't begrudge her making a living from it either.

Am I the only one here who listens to PGA Tour Radio on SirusXM radio? Paige is in Myrtle Beach this week and did a segment on Brian Katrek's show yesterday. She made no bones about it - she's not looking to get on the LPGA Tour. I think I even heard her use the word "toxic" to describe what she perceives as being the majority opinion of her by most playing on the LPGA now.

Under the assumption Bob didn't overpay, an investment in Paige makes sense and we all know why. Most here are die hard golf nuts, but probably can't name 10 members currently on the LPGA Tour. However, those same people can describe in vivid detail who Paige is. Her window, just like everyone who makes their living on looks, is in a constant state of closing. She's cashing in and someone is willing to write the checks.

I think this is a great move by both parties. I don't like when sports companies hire athletes that don't fit the brand image (i.e. Carl Pettersson with Nike), or use a product that they would never use unless they were getting paid. PXG makes the most forgiving clubs for players that need help so Paige is going to be a natural fit.

This. She needs to make her money now and I don't blame her one bit.

FWIW, I've seen first hand the sort of effect that Paige may be able to have for PXG.

I do demo days and fitting events for a major OEM, and occasionally the TaylorMade tent is run by my daughters' golf instructor. She played at Mississippi State, is in her mid 20's, and best way to describe her would be a 5'11" blonde Disney princess who can hit a driver 285. Yeah, she has no trouble drawing attention. One particular demo event at a very upscale club with a very small membership, her presence at the tent was worth conservatively $5000 worth of sales TM would not have otherwise been able to get. I'm in the next tent over laughing hysterically at the crowd of old guys oohing and aahing every time she hit a ball. They sounded just like the little green martians on Toy Story, kid you not. I know at least two of the club's members ordered an M2 driver without even hitting it for themselves; they just saw her stripe a few and told the pro they wanted one too. Not sure they meant the driver, but that's what they got. Not coincidentally, she made it very difficult for me to get anybody to even test what I was selling.

Long story short, if anybody could make spending the premium to play PXG look like a no-brainer, it'd be somebody like Paige.
