Soooo everyone....

Has anyone been to Swingers Sports Lounge in Lone Tree? I moved our office over there last year and I just noticed it last week. I am going to go with the name through me off

http://swingerssportslounge.com/

Yes I have used the simulators there probably a dozen times or so. They have a good selection of real courses as well as fantasy courses. They say it takes about an hour per person for 18 holes but that is false. We play with 12' gimme putts and double bogey max to move things along. Generally we can come really close to finishing 36 in 2 hours with 2 people. The cost is $30/hour per bay. Last time we played however the projector died on us. The manager?/owner? said they have to replace them every 8 months or so. Just bad luck I guess.

One thing I will say, is if you have a flatter swing like I do, be careful of hitting the wall with your driver! But if this doesn't happen at PGA SS you should be good.

Had 3 hours booked at Swingers last night. Showed up 20 minutes before we are scheduled to start only to be told that the projector died that morning. I predict this place is going to be out of business if this is such a common occurrence. Why not have backups always on hand? I get that they are expensive but so is not generating any revenue from them

I think once we are finally able to redeem our coupons I’m done with this place. Also it’s a Nebraska bar so it will be easy to not give them any business :)

A Husker bar!? I have to go before they close then!

I’m happy that CU vs NEB is back for the next two years...

Me too. And hopefully it will be a little less acrimonious now then it was in the past.

I went there about 5 years ago and it was empty, and I remember thinking they were close to closing then, but they seem to keep going. I honestly didn't think that they were still open. Will be interesting to see how they do with Top Golf and SBCC with a better launch monitor system.

Me too. And hopefully it will be a little less acrimonious now then it was in the past.

I'll be heading up to Lincoln for the game with a couple buddies/alums. Anyone else going? What good golf courses are on the way or in Lincoln?

The thing I've noticed is the college kids aren't as crazy as when I was at Boulder. I think time away has taken its toll on the rivalry too. So it might just seem like a regular game.

Irv, the best one is Wildhorse in Gothenburg which is about half way to Lincoln right on I80. If you would rather play something in the Lincoln area I would recommend Quarry Oaks in Ashland (just east of Lincoln on the North Platte River)

I'll second Wildhorse, despite not playing it yet. Planning on doing a full day there this summer. Drive out, play a couple rounds, drive back. Or drive out, play a couple rounds, stay the night, play another round, and drive back.

It's worth it Brian. You'll be astounded at the quality you get (especially the greens) for the price.

Also, a little hidden gem for on your way. When you take I76 out of Denver, turn north at Fort Morgan on Hwy 71. It will hook up with i80 at Kimball, NE. 4 Winds Golf Course sits right beside the interstate and is well worth taking the time to stop off and play (probably will only take you a little over three hours to play, never very busy). You won't regret it.

I'm working on lining a trip up there this year. The green fees went up from what I remember being somewhere around 60 to 78 with replay rate of 49. I still think this is worth it but definitely a big jump. Also, if you go, stay at the nice hotel by the interstate for 100 ish per night over the cabins they have on site. They will pimp the cabins pretty hard but I thought the beds sucked and the walls were cheap where you could hear anything all night long.

I didn’t even know they had cabins. It’s usually a day trip or a stopover going somewhere else for us.

Cabins (IIRC) are on their 2nd year, lots of Hotels on interstate. Love Wildhorse and wish I lived just a little closer to it. Bayside is also a fun course, lots of terrain and carries, greens are just OK.

I've got Bayside starred on my map as well. Looks interesting enough. It was all part of my post Ryder Cup plans in 2016, but then I had to sell my tickets.

I’m not a Bayside fan, but the majority of people really are. We played it last year in 25-30 mph north winds blowing off the lake. Youzers!

I'll let you guys know when I line it up. Ideally it'll be mid-June or early July.

I may not be able to go to Sweden this summer... so this might be something I might be interested in when the wife & kids are away.

Count me in for a CO WRX NEB TRIP.... went years back with some clients. Excellent tracks noted above. We played Wild Horse, Awarii Dunes, Dismal River and Sand Hills.

*Before anyone ask about Sand Hills...yes I know a few members but I don't ask to play it, only when they offer it up to me. They are business clients and I keep that separate.. Sorry.

I could see about Ballyneal though...not really on the way. Not sure I can get us on or cost but that one I don't mind asking as its a friend, not client.

I'm working on Ballyneal this year too. I'll post on here if there's extra spots but I've heard good things and have a couple of hookups that I need to get nailed down. Let me know about wildhorse because I'm always down to go run around that track!

It was a good past week - passed my exam and had a great, long weekend in Steamboat with friends skiing some killer snow. Now that life has returned back to normal, I'm stoked to start playing and practicing again.

I don't think I'm going to be able to make Monte's clinic happen unfortunately. We're in the process of redoing our kitchen which is already over my anticipated budget and I foolishly committed to taking the entire fam to Hawaii in the fall so I need to be smarter with money this year lol. That also means no new driver this season :(

The Sunday before my exam, I stocked up on rounds at the expo and somehow won another free round at South suburban again, so I am really looking forward to playing soon. I scored some great deals - $37 at Heritage Eagle Bend, $35 at Hyland Hills, and $55 at GVR with lunch and a beer, all with cart. I also scored some $50ish rounds at the Ridge earlier this year. I'm sure I'm missing something else, as I got pretty drunk with friends at the expo which is always a dangerous thing when you're ready to spend money lol.

Cheers to everyone! Looking forward to a great season and hopefully getting more rounds with some of the great guys we have here.

Ballyneal is one of those places I wish I had connections to. Alas...nothing. I've so wanted to play it since we moved.

As for Nebraska, I've wanted to play Dismal River and Awarii as well. They look fantastic.

Ballyneal is pretty easy to get on. Contact them and maybe they'll let you come out or tell them you are looking into a membership. I was legitimately looking into memberships two years ago and went out played it. There was no sale pitch or anything or questions on whether or not I was legitimately looking into membership. Anyway, I loved it and wish it was closer since initiation and dues were not over the top. However, I felt I would need to go out there twice a week and play at least 36 to get my moneys worth.

What kind of numbers are we talking about?

I drove by Lone Tree GC yesterday. I'm pretty surprised how much snow there still is on the course.

Unbeknownst to me, Front Range Golf Club's 2018 tournament schedule has been posted. It looks pretty compressed (almost every week between May and September). joelness, looks like we're kicking it off on your home course.

Again, if anyone's interested in joining, please PM me for referral details.

Well it was $10,000 initiation but they had a half off deal with no dues for the rest of the year. I was there in August. The dues were over $4,000 for the year. I thought that was pretty reasonable when I was looking into everything here in town. The two cheapest in town were Rolling Hills at $35K Junior initiation and Ravenna at $12,500. Both had high monthly dues over $500 per month with it increasing when I turned 40 etc.

Colorado Avid Golfer publishes the initiation/dues for all private courses in the state every April. It was $22,500 initiation and $4500 a year last year for Ballyneal for those within 300 miles.

Whoaaa that was a good deal. If it was closer it would be a perfect deal. Nothing locally is really close to that.

Well if reading responses right, looks like 4-6 people (?) have some interest in doing a CO WRX NEB trip. First week of June (6-10th) is the only dates I could not make it. Will be in Pinehurst for the first time...Looking forward to that...!!

I shot out an email today to a friend who had a corporate membership at Ballyneal the last 4-5 years, just need to know if he keep if this year.
