Wow, it has to go to the factory to change weights?

Way to swing and wiff on that one, Ping!

Surprised you trust us with a wrench on the woods. Maybe we should of had to send those back also.

Love your stuff and have a bag full of it, but sometimes, you make me scratch my head.

Who said you had to send it to the factory to change weights? All he said was you can custom order different color weights for an upcharge.

Post 255:

The fact that you cannot change the sole weights on your own is a deal breaker for me. I like to tinker and I think that's a big miss by Ping to not allow the end user to change the weights on their own. We should be passed the point where I need to send my putter back to the factory to change sole weights. I'm sure someone will create a set of weights that will eventually end up in the aftermarket world of eBay, but I doubt you'll see the heavier ones made from tungsten.

I highly doubt that. This isn't the first Ping putter with adjustable sole weights. The iwi series came with sole weights and Ping sold a weight kit seperate. Never had to send them in to get different weights. I don't see why this would be any different.

Was quoted from Morton Golf

$17.50 upcharge for a stealth black shaft

$16 upcharge for a weight color change

IS the shaft like the Tour Dynamic gold that don’t wear or like the Taylor Made putter shafts that scratch and show steel underneath?

Was only told a stealth stepless steal shaft is an option.

I think the important question is if the stealth shaft is a black PVD or a matte black. If it’s matte, I’ll probably just go with regular steel.

Anyone compare distance with some of the other irons out like apex or z565's

I200's are not a "distance" iron

WTH? Serious?? Was really interested...

I was told directly by PING that if you want a heavier weight for this line, then you need to send the putter back to the factory to change the weights. I love the assumptions by people on these boards who think they know everything!

Liek it or not, and I'm not saying I do, they market the weights as a fitting tool, not something they are giving the consumer an option to change. I could be wrong, but I still think they will make a weight kit available.

Now, if they were like Odyssey, who marketed so many of their putters with interchangeable weights, and sold weight kits for that purpose, that also worked across putter lines, then released the O-Works line with interchangeable weights that 1) weren't compatbile with past weight kits 2) per Odyssey, 'were never intended to be changed by the consumer' (I'm paraphrasing) 3) then, after much consumer complaint, released a weight kit only for that line, I'd be more on your side.

That said, I have a 7s that I really like.

Took the Dalehead Anser back and ended up with a B60 and frankly love it. Much better fit. Changed the grip to the SuperStroke Pistol GTR Tour and we have a winner!

I putted the Anser at two different stores with 4 different balls and think the feel is great. I prefer the feel over my Anser milled and Redwood. I won't buy one though for a couple of reasons. I hate the groove pattern on the face and I can't stand that they milled "Dale" into the putter. To me it makes it look like I borrowed a putter from some guy named Dale. Come on! I may get over the face groove issue and be talked into a ZB at some point. We'll see. Right now, other than feel, they lack the wow factor for me.

I found the TR grooves in my Scottsdale B60 to live up to the hype. I like it even more built in, I have just moved on to my Odyssey 7s. I would love to see a slant neck Ping mallet.

Anyone try the original Pingman grip on the Dale head? I didn’t like the superstroke-style stock grip like some previously mentioned.

I have the Midsize on a Voss. Makes all the difference in the world to me.

This is good to hear. I'm thinking of now getting one custom ordered with this grip and heavier weights.

I’m probably in the minority here, but these putters are a little on the heavy side for me. I rolled a copper B60 yesterday and really liked it, but 355 grams is too heavy for my taste. I know I can order it at 340 grams and that may be an option, but I wish we could adjust the weight by 5 or 10 grams instead of 15. 15 grams seems like a large increment.

If I get one, it will be the copper ZB. That thing is sick.

Agreed. That thing is nuts!

My local golf store tells me you can't order the tungsten weights. Like someone said here earlier, you have to order it with standard weights and then send it back to get the heavier weights? This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I don't understand why they can't just do it with heavier weights in the first place. Even if they make it standard, then change it before shipping it to me. Crazy.

IDK, I really like mine so far... the feel right off the rack is really nice. If I like the way it feels now, I have no reason to change the weights. I would not go into any piece of equipment with the mentality that I would want to alter it before trying it anyway, but that's me. I have multiple Scotty's with the weights and have only thought about trying a different weight set-up one time. I can't see Ping not releasing a kit for these after some time or at least making the tool and weights available but if you already know what weight you like, why not just order it that way? I like to tinker as much as anyone but writing these putters off over this is unfortunate for you.

I think you misunderstand. You can't order it the way you want. That's what I am being told. You can only order it with the standard weights.

If thats the case, it makes no sense and would agree thats pretty dumb. It just doesn't seem realistic that Ping would make you buy it stock then send it in for weights which they would have available. I know some of the finishes are custom order only, seems a good enough time as any to change out the weights....

Yes. I wanted to order a Ketsch with tungsten weights. They said I had to order stock weights and wait to receive it. Then, I had to ship it back for them to change the weights. Then, they ship it back to me.

They must be wanting to make money on changing weights but I was willing to pay anyway.

I hope he's wrong. He is checking with Ping tomorrow.
