She will help with that. Problem is, even the top European players care little about the European Tour save 4-5 tournaments a year. I would imagine the majority of MD viewers care even less.

I don’t get what’s so complicated about Jack’s comments. Jack’s personal beliefs on what he thinks is important to prepare for being at worst the second best golfer of all-time is and should be different than an average Tour pro’s views. They have different goals.

In the way Hank Haney cares about the US Women's Open. In all seriousness, they do care they just go where it is best for their career. Most of the players are paying attention to these events.

ET is a completely different product to the PGA Tour that's its strength, of course the PGA Tour is better in many ways. I love the PGA Tour but there is something uniquely interesting about ET events. Doesn't Golf Channel show a lot of ET golf, if the interest was so low would they continue with it?

You are right, there I something unique to the European Tour. Whether it is their social media (kicks the PGA Tour’s butt), the Shot Clock Masters, teeing off from a building, or seeing all the different parts of the world - they do some neat stuff. But players might care about the European Tour, but they care far more about playing against the best players and getting paid. If they really cared, they’d play in Europe.

I thought Coach was quite disrespectful to Eamon Lynch who actually proposed some good ideas regarding the issues with the PGA Tour schedule. A 1000% agree with Lynch that golf shouldn't be obsessed with football fans.

Coach was tripping balls this morning when he got on Berger. It’s like watching WWE. And I’m not inbred. Which is similar to sitting at a bar all night and not being drunk.

It still amazes me that Coach is an actual thing when it comes to golf coverage. He brings absolutely nothing to the table of any substance. I can think of a few guys on here that would be much better suited to the role than Coach.

Problem is this "growing the game " idea- it's going to rub some of us purists and true fans of the game the wrong way bringing in people who act like the 6am Sports Center crew about golf- At least the sports center people generally have some knowledge on the subject at hand-

Anna Whitely was a great addition- the coach- not so much-

I like Damon Hack and Robert Damron and Lauren Thompson quite alot-

I'm always happy to see Paige McKenzie too-

Overall I think they do a great job and I love having the show available to watch

The argument he had earlier today on the schedule with the British guy on remote was cringe worthy. And coach is an idiot. The other guy had a great point. Why alienate the core golf fan in favor of the football fan ? Some watch both successfully. Some don’t care to. Let those that don’t go. Caoch said “ that’s impossible. Sponsors bring money and they want more viewers “. Sure says the other guy. But which sponsors will leave if this schedule flops ... coach basically says “ it can’t flop. It’s the only way “. Idiot. He’s the football fan we’re all griping about. EF-off and leave golf alone.

Context to be fair. When I say idiot here. I’m referring to golf IQ. He maybe a perfectly swell guy otherwise. I just am not sure why he’s so anti golf fan and pro football.

I didn't see the segment but based on what you described, Coach is right. The PGA Tour needs to make money, therefore it needs sponsors, therefore it needs the right ratings numbers. It makes sense to move its bigger events away from football which will wreck its ratings.

The question is will they lose more ratings jamming the majors together resulting in the top players skipping more events in the major season and hurting TV ratings. The Tour might lose more than it gains.

I agree and there is no evidence the Coach is right. The PGA Tour survived and even thrived before this sudden fear about football affecting TV numbers. To me it seems like the PGA Tour is being overly greedy/cynical and trying to squeeze every dollar it can in the upcoming TV deal which is probably the last big deal in the Tiger era.

The PGA Tour has charity status (for the moment), sponsors put up the prize money, the individual events actually raise the charity dollars (which the PGA Tour love to take credit for) and so on. Seems to me that a lot of other people do the heavy lifting when it comes to the actual product that the TV companies are paying for.

What Tour events are top players skipping more than in prior years? I don't see it.
