Valspar Discussion Thread

That putt on 17 was nothing short of amazing. Cannot help but look forward to Bay Hill. Tiger loves the Orlando area courses (considering he had or perhaps still has a home there) and always seems to do well.

This week certainly put the Valspar on the map.

um 2015 called...

Anyone else feel like they just got done watching a major?

LOL no...

Mind explaining the reply? Afraid I don't understand seeing 2015 on my caller ID.

Odds Tiger is back next year? I think it's a no brainer. Florida course that obvo fits his game well.....Valspar execs totally must be going crazy

Hard not to cheer for Tiger.

I had no problem not cheering for him! Have not cheered for him 25 years, why start now?

Likewise, just never cared for part of his personality.

You don't like Phil and also not a fan of Tiger. We are getting to know a lot about your personality.

Only on GolfWRX do we judge someone's personality by the golfers he cares or doesn't care for!

The pin on 18 was so bad. So, so bad.

No it wasn't. It's on a back shelf that forces you to hit a good approach shot, and if you take driver or 3 wood off the tee and in the fairway, it's a short iron. Not all that dissimilar to 18 at Augusta when the pin is back, to be honest.

Multiple guys had chances to stick that iron shot and either tie or win the tournament. They failed. Tiger lost his realistic chance when he decided on 2 iron off the tee and left himself 180 on approach. In shocked he didn't hit 3 wood.

I disagree. And at Augusta it's basically a front pin with some bail out. This a back left pin that if you're short by anything more than 10 ft you're done.

I guess I would like to know how many in the field birdied 18 today. It needs to be a challenge but not almost impossible.

Since all we saw was Tiger , Rose and Reed most of the day I have no idea how the rest of the field did on 18

Dude Reed said it was a great position, but we know it was horrible because Big Cat didn't make birdie there.

So Money!

18 was tied with 16 for toughest hole today. It did give up 7 birdies so it wasn’t impossible. For those that like a firework finish it was a tough pin placement. For those that like to see a Par win the tournament it was a GREAT pin position.

Yeah nobody is running to lowes to buy paint because tiger woods played there this year... Corporate sponsorship doesnt work that way.

Not being sarcastic but is this the first time you watch this event? because this happened 3 years ago and it was an epic finish.Listen to the crowds

I wish P Reed chipped the first time. Awkward angle, ridge/speed crucial. Have to give yourself a chance.

Yeah I definitely thought he would chip that. I'm not the biggest P reed giy, but I felt pretty bad for him.

How can you not? He played his guts out today. Deserved a playoff for sure but am very happy for casey

Ur right I'm sure they didn't have any kind of positive reaction to what went down this week. Probably going to pull sponsorship after seeing that Tiger will likely be back next year. :jester:

I highly doubt Tiger will he back here next year. This was a crazy circumstance for him to get more rounds under his belt before Augusta. I'd be shocked if he played here next year.

I'll put a 24 pack of K sigs on he will 100% be back next year....

You are on, but I only bet 12 packs of PBR. Americas finest invention.

It’s not the alcohol. It’s those who can’t control themselves. I was wasted while watching my mini me build castles in the kid zone. But no one could tell. =P

3rd sentence kind of negates your second one, no? ;)

Typically when someone is so drunk they think people can't tell.......they're usually wrong.

And personally, I wouldn't brag about being wasted while I was watching my child.

Reed on 18 was pretty disappointing, would've liked to see Reed back in the winner's circle. Awesome win for Casey, about time!
