Congrats to Casey. Looks like he’s been pumping some iron.

Snedeker shot 78 and dropped from 2nd place to 31st place. He is trying to make it into the Masters field. Needs either Top 50 ranking or a PGA Tour win to make it. I'd like to see him pull off one of those scenarios ASAP. The 31st place finish at Valspar only moved him from 74th to 72nd in the world rankings.

it was a lousy pairing for TW with Snedeker...he was unable to feed off of him at all..Snedeker showed why he has never been a factor in the majors...nice career ,seems like a nice guy but will never win a major

It’s not the alcohol. It’s those who can’t control themselves. I was wasted while watching my mini me build castles in the kid zone. But no one could tell. =P

Typically when someone is so drunk they think people can't tell.......they're usually wrong.

 

And personally, I wouldn't brag about being wasted while I was watching my child.

A great tournament. I am happy for Paul, he is a grinder and earned this one. I can't believe he has only 2 PGA Tour wins. He is just such a genuine guy, could see how emotional he was.

 

I am guessing he would be tough to beat in a PGA Arm Wrestling Tournament.

 

Nice work TW, looking good. I like how he remained patient, and did not try to force things. All in due time, but looks good.

Reed, not sure what to say. I have never been a fan, but feel for him. That was an awful decision on 18 IMO.

Great tournament by Tiger and more solid progress.

 

I must admit being slightly disappointed that he didn't give himself a better chance of birdie at 18 by being more aggressive off the tee.

 

If he had made bogey it would still have been a solid T4 and double would have meant T5.

 

Maybe he was more interested in ensuring that he beat Sergio and Sabbatini!

Righteous? Really? I didn't pass any judgement. I made a comment based on what I've observed over the years when people have had too much to drink. If you were wasted, people likely knew.

 

The second part, well, possibly a little judgmental, I'll admit that. But that's how it works, everything you put out there sets you up to be judged. So maybe some things just shouldn't be put out there. Since being proud of being wasted while watching your child probably isn't ever going to get you a favorable reaction.

 

But I gave up bragging about how much I drink or how drunk I was when I was about 19.

Energy and Adoration.

 

 

As Tiger walked up to 18 yesterday, the energy from the crowd was palpable. You could hear it in the voices of the announcers. You could see the adoration in faces of the fans. You could feel it in through the TV. He just made that bomb on 17 and we all thought the one on 18 was going down too.

 

I loved watching Tiger play golf before but now it seems better. We are watching him regain his chops. I felt like the second place finish yesterday was almost a choreographed win for the fans to build the suspense for the year. He said, “It’s like riding a bike. It’s a new bike, though.”

 

 

This guy brings real energy to the game. I am a Tiger Fan!

This is a tough golf course, 67 is the low round so far, hard to see him going much lower than that. Plus Sunday is looking to be pretty windy and possible T-storms in the afternoon. Personally I think -9 or better wins.

I go to the Valspar every year. Some takeaways for after Friday's round... The fans and the sponsors of the tournament were amazing. Logistically, it was easy to park and get to the course. Obviously, the crowds and atmosphere exceeded all expectations with Tiger in the field. It was great to follow him for a while, but that opened up the rest of the course to get up close to other players. Peter Malnati might not only be the nicest TOUR player, but possibly the nicest human being. Every year I follow Henrik Stenson, who happens to be my favorite golfer. He is such a class-act and professional and was very gracious while posing for a photo with me. Adam Scott is a 9 (according to my wife), but his accent makes him an 11. I don't disagree. Keep an eye out for Jimmy Stanger once he strings together four good rounds. The Snake Pit never gets old, especially 16.
