There was nothing missing this week. I can’t guve him an A+ because he didn’t win and his speed was a tad off today. Hopefully he keeps it up. Swing looks pretty good and MUCH better than it was at Farmers.

What's with the idiotic commentators acting surprised that Patrick Reed can hit a fade off the 18th tee because "it's not his natural shot"? You don't get to that level without being able to work the ball both ways, especially a simple cut off the tee.

 

Because Patrick is known to hit a draw on every shot. And that was the 16th tee.

 

There are certain guys like him who curve it 1 way 90% of the time.

 

Notice he has to exaggerate a cut finish just to get it to cut at all.

 

Guys like Tiger and Rose have a more neutral swing.

 

Just because a draw is his preference doesn't mean he can't hit other shots. Reed could hit a fade in his sleep, as could any pro worth their salt, let alone a top 30 player in the world.

 

Not on the 70th hole, tied for the lead on a narrow water lined hole that calls for a fade.

 

Reed can hit fades, sure. But he doesn't. Unless he's forced to.

 

And the commentators who have watched him play hundreds of rounds know that about him, where as you're making generalizations.

 

How am I generalizing? I stated that it's not that amazing that he can hit a fade despite him preferring to hit a draw. It's really not that complicated.

You're assuming that Reed is like Tiger or Bubba, who routinely work the ball both ways.

 

If you were familiar with Reed's game you would know that he always hits a draw, unless he's absolutely forced not to.

 

That's why it wasn't "idiotic" to comment on him hitting a fade on the 16th tee. How many guys do you see have to do a helicopter finish to hit a "simple cut off the tee"?

I thought that tiger fan yelling noonan at Patrick Reed on 16 and 17 when he was cleaning up his 3 footers says it all. He didn’t have the guy tossed. Reed gave him the death stare and nothing more. The fans trying to will tiger today were overboard. The same people in the other thread about Justin Thomas saying you shouldn’t root against a guy we’re all ok with this behaviour. Snedeker had people yelling in his back swing half the day. Ridiculous.

So everyweek I enter a contest to win 2 free rounds of golf. All you have to do is pick the winner of this weeks event, but you cannot pick a golfer that has already been chosen. So by the time I entered, Reed was still available.

 

All I have to say is I was wondering, should I play Thursday or Friday? Then Reed puked all over the 18th green. I gotta say watching golf this way can be a little stressful when you can smell FREE GOLF and your player blows up on 18.

Happy to see big cat coming to Tampa. Hoping his back hold up for the next 10 years. It was great seeing him and I was hoping he win so he would come back. He brings so much needed exposure to this wonderful course which I personally call my second home.

Of course. His ranking is deflated by the fact he has barely played any golf in the last 2 years and there is a minimum divisor of 40 events. Average points per start before this week was inside the Top 45. Average points per start after this weekend will be Top 15. If he pulls a similar finish next week, he will be in the Top 5 for points per start.

Maybe. Let him get one first before we start getting ahead of ourselves. Slightly Better field at bay hill and bigger course, more drivers required and field won’t be as low scoring as this week. He’s got the great vibes there for sure but want to see him play the bigger courses.

Can't remember her first name but I think her last name is Pelas. Some web.com or European tour guy tweeted her and asked her to be his caddy at the par 3 contest if he got in The Masters last year. ***Sorry***.
