1) I think you'd agree that Yuting will be unfortunately out of her league on the LPGA this week as a sponsor invite. It would be great if she played well to get TV coverage all 4 days....but I honestly believe, she won't make the cut....there's a reason why she's back on the CLPGA...mediocre play.

Unfortunately my trunk slammin prediction is holding up......79...ugh.

I'm not shocked. Yuting's primary sponsor is Mediheal, so her invite was expected regardless of her current status. Hopefully she'll climb a few spots up from T138.

Well look at that. Lydia Ko tied for the 1st round lead at -4.

Nice to see that, hopefully she can continue the trend. Maybe DL lit a fire in her belly

In her post round interview she mentioned trying to be less mechanical, and focusing on just hitting the ball. Karen mentioned that Brooke takes the same approach with great results.

She must have read the Leadbetter thread this morning and figured out what she's been doing wrong.

But if her recent trend continues, she'll shoot +2 tomorrow.

You think she paid a visit to RBImGuy?

Do you meant to say she paid for a visit to rbi? That vast knowledge is not free. Look what he did for Hans....

Brooke is the total opposite end of the spectrum and gets no coaching apart from her dad a retired school teacher, IMO Brooke would benefit from some outside help, not a swing coach or a full time coach, but someone to help her with her short game. She and her dad develop her driving mechanics based on elements from long driving competitors so she doesn't want a pro teacher messing with that and her iron play from the fairway is solid. It's her short game and putting that needs help it has not improved and probably to a degree regressed from when she first got on tour. Honestly if she was smart she would ask Brad Faxon for some help coaching for her and her father, like a consultant sorta thing. She does play in Brad and Billy Andrade's charity tournament each year so she does have access and does know him. Then again Brooke seems very stubborn about doing it her own way lol

'Nice to see Su Oh play a decent round. She's been really struggling this season. 'Same with Angel. Her best finish this season has been a 39T. Ouch.

During yesterday's coverage they put up a graphic with the final two rounds of the 2012 U.S. Girl's Junior Championship held at Lake Merced GC. Minjee beat Alison Lee for the championship after the two had dispensed with Lydia and Ariya in the semifinals.

Minjee, Lydia, and Ariya are all currently in the top 20 in the World rankings, while Alison has sadly fallen off the face of the planet. Quite shocking.

It seems to me, correctly or incorrectly, that Alison has been enjoying the collegiate and sorority life at UCLA to the point where it seems to have become a significant distraction to her game and consequently, her results.

Alison graduated UCLA in June 2017. She should be well on her way back to some level of reasonable play. She is currently tied for last place in ballstriking, and one spot up from last in total driving.

I realize that she graduated in 2017, but the collegiate - sorority lifestyle seems to have continued. I agree that she has the skill and talent to play better, but she seems to have succumbed to the idea or notion of life as a professional golfer with a glamorous lifestyle (as per her photo shoots, and other instagram photos and video stories).

I really hope that she has some sort of epiphany to help her realize that she has this wonderful gift of being able to play professional golf and to go get it!

Lexi Thompson hits 15 greens today and shoots +3 with 36 putts. Yikes!

I only saw a bit of yesterday coverage but I did see Lexi make a really good stroke, from about twenty feet or so. I think her putting ability is underrated, she is at worst average. From what I seen she is actually a pretty good lag putter. IMO her main issue is dealing with adversity. She looks so frustrated and miserable when the putts don't fall. Woe is me. Even Inbee has spells where she can't buy a putt, sometimes even misses short ones. Doesn't seem to affect her confidence though, that's what sets her apart I suppose.

Inbee had the two ball putter out yesterday. If you're a great putter, I guess it doesn't matter when you switch equipment frequently.

I believe she put the 2-ball away for only one tournament. She was playing it last week at the Hugel-JTBC.

-6 today, hope she can keep it up through the weekend

Assuming Annie holds on for the win, would she regain immediate status on the tour, or have to wait for the next reshuffle? I assume she would receive full member privileges immediately.

I assume she gets status right away, Brooke the last Monday qualifier to win only had to apply for status cause of her age (17 yrs)

Interestingly enough, she is currently on the list for next week's Monday qualifier that is being played at my home course.

She currently has status, it’s just not very good at 366th.

A win would put her in Category 4 and 82nd.

A top ten would get her in next week.

Without a win, the best she can do after the reshuffle is 136th.

The reshuffle is after next week.

I think you'd be distracted too....if you were hanging out with the UCLA "BABE CAVE" girls too.

PROOF below. :taunt:
