In the end this was a major that I really enjoyed watching. I enjoyed the tournament for the side show it was on Saturday and the result that followed. The USGA let the course get away from them creating a situation where I feel some players were unfairly removed from contention and others were brought back into contention due to incredible play and plenty of help from the USGA and the weather.

Finau and Berger played flat out incredible rounds early on Saturday and then got to benefit from the USGA's inability to properly set up a golf course that can sustain playability throughout a range of weather conditions relative to the area.

Brooks and Dustin honestly played incredible just to be in the position that they were come Saturday night.

I don't want to take anything away from Brooks because he's an incredible talent and a very deserving Champion of the 2018 US Open but the Championship has a bit of a black eye to me because of Saturday.

I enjoyed the tournament. I couldn't look away to be honest but I think the USGA botched it. I didn't mind Erin Hills as I think they did what they could with the weather and these guys are just flat out good when they get soft conditions. I think it's time that the USGA accepts the fact that these guys are the best in the world and trying to make them a course that gives you an Even Par winner is too risky because you can end up losing control of the the course.

Brooks won from the wrong side of Saturday's conditons. How in the world could anything be taken away from him? He was superb. At Erin Hills he was transcendent. His game is well put together and he showed moxie today. Three for at Pebble?

Any thoughts on his game traveling to other Majors?

Just a question, has anyone ever seen Brooks Koepka and Josh Brolin in the same room together? Or is Koepka his son? Just wondering.

It would be nice to see him win some tour events. I mean I know he’s not Tiger but 2-3 wins a year would show me something.

Absolute joke of a tournament, fitting that the win comes by bouncing the ball off the tarp! Next time they should hold the US Open at a mini golf course, it can't get any worse.

I will not watch another US Open unless TW is in contention, the USGA are clowns.

Shocker.. surprised you watched at all with your boy missing the cut.

I guess I will see everyone again at Carnoustie. These tournaments in between look boring. Cromwell, snooooze.

any golf is good golf

there's the spirit. After all posting Tournaments as snoooze on a golf lovers web site is akin to being unable to get aroused on porn site

Pretty much focus on the majors and tournaments I enjoy these days. Never really cared much for the late June/July swing.

I was under the impression you didn't care for post (funny) season

DJ seems to be a less accomplished version of Greg Norman. Incredible talent, great driver of the ball. #1 ranked player for many weeks. Massive choker on the big stage. DJ should have at least 5 majors. Can't help but wonder what he thinks of his buddy Koepka having more majors than him at a much younger age (6 years younger than DJ).

Whether it's right or wrong to set up the course the way it played the first three days I think they did exactly what they wanted to do. I'm sure they were ecstatic the wind blew. Enough people complained, a few Shinnecock members too I'm sure. They caved and we got a good finish. Would have been more fun watching them grind down the stretch imo.

It's weird how a certain mentality can carry through, a year later, to the same stage and produce a repeat. Koepka is talented but this win reminded me of Spieth's uncanny ability at Augusta. Jordan wasn't exactly on top going into the Masters but somehow found a way to grind out a top end finish, and Koepka coming off injury has seemingly done the same. Some players just a get in a crazy groove, confidence-wise and focus-wise and outplay their typical week-to-week performances during the normal schedule. I never in a million years thought he'd be top ten to start Thursday but I was wrong. After today, he should be a 4-5 win per year player, but I just don't see that happening yet. He's got the US Open pegged for sure though.

I agree with most of what he said though. AND it does need to be said.

The worst golf crowd in Europe would be an admirable one compared to over here. Its gotten out of hand. I've been in the stands multiple times and the players complaining about it have every right. They actually abuse them, sometimes when it's dead quiet or in passing by. Would hope golf would be beyond some of this foolishness but many of the fans aren't necessarily golf fans to begin with. They're just there.

Here's an interesting thought experiment: Is Koepka's resume good enough for the Hall of Fame right now? I say no based on the fact that Andy North has Koepka's exact career, two US Opens and only one other PGA Tour win, and he's never gotten in. However, North didn't win his US Opens back to back, which is a monumental achievement.

I'd say no but he's higher on the "possible" list than North, due to winning them back to back as you said.

Monty is my favorite swing of all time...

Though he admits it was a copy of still shots his father gave him of Jack when he was serving as secretary of Royal Troon…

Later Monty’s dad would get him the BBC uncut reels of the open and he would study Jack endlessly on film as a kid...u get kinda cool perks if ur dads secretary of an Open Rota course...

Anyhow, he loved Jack’s high hand finish and reverse C and I’ll be damned if Monty didn’t have the most beautifully tempoed reverse c swing I’ve ever seen…

John is close second because his was so violent and aggressive and mixed with the beauty and elegance of oversee I can watch him swing in the 70s all day long…

Such a cool swinger of the golf ball…baddest swing ever though only a hair cooler than Jacks

The site tends to only mock Miller and Monty but he won 7 order of merits in a row and an eighth a few years later…

He’s one of the greatest UK golfers ever and I don’t give a damn he never won to major…

Seven order of merits in a row is astounding...

Robert Streb copied Monty’s swing and tempo exactly....very fun to watch him on the range

I always appreciate seeing someone else appreciate my golf swing idol...

its a good think DJ and Brooks dont speak for a living.... dont expect them at any mensa meetings any time soon.... the most enthusiastic thing DJ did today was drink that diet coke and fiddle with his Iphone.

lol, golf, eat meat, lift weights, golf, date hot female, golf, protein, weight room.....

Impressive golf today, great course, was pulling for finau......

My name is Bruce-roids and I win US Opens for a living.

Would rather watch those athletes play golf than whiny Yippy Spieth ... Koepka wins another major(s) and he will real soon and then Yippy will be yesterday’s news
