I've never understood why people pan clubs because the back looks weird. As long as it doesn't screw me up at address, then I'm good.

Is it just me or is the color scheme Rogue-ish? I know OEMs need their clubs to be visible on the tour, but the aesthetics of just a silver, or black, or copper club are so much better IMO. And it's not just TM. Why Mizuno would only make their T7 wedges in "ion blue" for lefties I don't know. We already stand out, no need to bag blue clubs! ...aaaannnnnd end my $0.02 rant.

Started reading this thread with interest about the new TM driving iron coming out. Now I'm ending it by posting about how I'm excited to try the GAPR hybrid hahaha. Really nice headshape. Contrary to what some will probably say on here, I don't think the crown structure is gonna bother me much, don't think it'll be noticeably more aerodynamic than my old rescue, but might help with alignment. As long as the lie isn't ridiculously upright, I'm a fan.

They just keep making them longer and longer too. Gotta get that swing weight up somehow I guess.

 

The P790 UDI at 40" is way too long. But even at 40", it's a D1. So cutting it even a 1/2" short will wildly throw it off.

 

40.25" for the GAPR Lo 2 iron? Jesus. As someone who's only 5'4"...that's just not something I'd be able to use.

There is also a glued hosel Tour version of the GAPR Lo 2 iron that has 18* of loft. Here are a couple of them being tested for The Open this week.

Hitting straight bombs with my 790 UDI. No reason to try these for me. The color scheme looks no bueno in my opinion. Love the simple look of the 790 UDI comparatively.

I’ll be interested in seeing the official release statement on these. I heard there was going to be a chrome version too. Maybe that idea was scrapped.

I am the same boat. just got used to the p790 UDi and hitting it good.

 

It is certainly more iron like and pleasing to my eye.
