Yeah I read about today too. He said that’s he’s too old to try and make the pga tour but at least he gets to play in an event now. He’s supposed to be playing in the Singapore open this weekend and if he makes the top 4 who haven’t qualified already for the Open, he gets in.

I had emailed Carnoustie back in October about getting a tee time for my July '19 trip. The lady replied back saying nothing was available for a single, but to contact her in January to see if they can accommodate me. They only book 2, 3, and 4 balls online. Of course that lady retired back in December, but I emailed them again last night and someone got back to me this morning saying they have a time for me on 7/21. So it looks like I'll be playing a round at Carnoustie during the final round of the Open Championship.

 

Got my 4 courses locked in for my trip:

 

Cruden Bay

North Berwick

Kingsbarns

Carnoustie

Played Kingsbarns and Carnoustie four 5 summers ago. You will absolutely love them both.

Below is my version. Have been playing with this swing for my last 10 or so rounds due to chronic lower-right back pain. This is the only way I can swing and not be in severe pain. My scores have actually come DOWN a tiny bit with this move:

A couple things:

 

1) The red glove is from my buddy's company, Short Par 4. They started doing "gloves of color" recently, and I've always loved them. I have: Red, Royal Blue, Purple, Orange, and Red White & Blue.

 

2) That's actually not a ball marker on my hat, that's a actually a mini Nilla Wafer that I keep there in case I get hungry walking from my cart to my ball (which happens a lot).

So in the 6 day forecast, Sunday morning, 7 AM is going to be about 50ºF. By 2 pm, it's going to be about 25ºF. by 7 am the next day, it's going to be 15ºF.

 

Let's get it all out in a little 2 week period then get back to playing golf.

Kind of a scrub tourney this weekend, with a few notable exceptions. I can see a lot of people firing on Rahm, and Rose this week.

I dont mind the step through - I guess - its the rest of the post-shot antics that I wonder how much longer I'll want to watch. To be fair I did think it was hilarious the first 87 times or so that Golf Channel showed it.

Spent some time yesterday breaking out the Impact Snap again. I have an old swing trainer called the Swing Setter that works pretty good too but the Impact Snap is nice and small, doesnt really take up as much storage space, and I think it really does help. After that I re-setup the hitting net and got maybe ten minutes of chipping time in - just working on consistant setup/contact. I dont know how "meaningful" it is - but between that and being able to roll putts, I think people can pretty inexpensively set themselves up to get some good indoor reps in if they want to.

I see that Golf Digest has put out the latest Top 100 list. Not much has changed. I have played 47 of the top 50. #31 (Alotian) & #32 (Gozzer Ranch) I have not played and have not idea of how to get to them. I have 89 of the top 100 done and that number dropped from 92 completed. I do not think anyone can catch up to this list and complete it as it changes every two years.

Some thoughts, PH#2, Sabonack, Seminole and Medinah #3 didn't belong on this list. Of course it’s splitting hairs all over the Top 100.

Laurel Valley,Sahalee, BelAir and Torrey Pines all dropped out of the top 100. Played all of these courses. Cabot Lodge was not on the list maybe because it is not in the US, but it is close enough. Long Island has two courses that I think are just great, Frair's Head and Fisher's Island. I could play these everyday for the rest of my life.

 

Bandon has every course now in the top 200. Sand Hills will most likely be in the top 10 soon, I have played it before it was in top 100.
