Genuinely intrigued. However, how is moonshine weaker ABV wise than bourbon or vodka?

That I’m not sure, they call it a hybrid moonshine so maybe it’s different in how they make it. However, I highly recommend it, as it’s very good and been my favorite liquor for the past year. The honey habenero hits sweet up front but finishes with spicy but not overwhelming. The ginger mixer really works well with it too. Plus it’s 19-23 bucks depending on your abc. Really good stuff.

Speaking of Bourbon. Really good friend of mine opened a barbershop in Old a Ellicott City. With your haircut you get a bourbon. Haircut, shampoo, hot towel and a bourbon is pretty great on a Saturday afternoon.

Started snowing about three hours earlier than they initially thought. Not sure what the Balto area guys are getting but I think they finally admitted it might get to a foot around here.

 

 

Good news is I might finally get to use the snowblower I bought two years ago.

 

So I'm starting to run into an issue on the liquor shelf where I have just an ounce or two left in particular bottles. Havent been sure what to do but I've just started randomly mixing them. Last weekend I had the last of a Blood Oath bourbon with the final bit of WhistlePig 10 yr rye. Actually was pretty tasty, WP gives it a little spice.

Snow is awesome and it’s January 12th so I’m not complaining. If it was March 12th? Sure. That’d be different. But with two days of NFL and college hoops? Seems mostly amazing to me. I’ll have some beers and enjoy it

Nothing yet. Just finished playing timbers with domes. Fun day. We played 1 do-over per hole but you had to use it.

 

I was a couple under par doing that. Greens were frozen but ran well. We made a ton of feet of putts.

How do you force a do over use? If you hit a bad shot you could get another chance. But if you stuff a shot or sink a long birdie, do you mean you had to do it again? I kinda dig that. Bet it normalizes strokes a ton, since it could help a bad player but hurt a good one.

I dislike snow quite a bit, but I choose to live in MD so it's part of the deal. We've been pretty darn lucky so far this winter with the weather. We could've had a few feet of snow by now, if it had been colder.

 

I'm on the lookout to stock up 1-2 pairs of shoes for this season. Anybody seen good deals recently? Shoes have to be spiked. I've got some type of swing issue with my footwork that makes me prone to slipping, so spikeless is a disaster.

You didn't have to use a do over, so it only really happened when your first shot was not good (Aka, you couldn't really do worse). Think drives into the woods, or, if you hadn't used it yet, a 20 foot putt that you missed the first time.

 

Fun walk. Actually two other guys walking to the first tee when we got there so we went off the back. Played in less than 3. Back home before the snow. Weather wasn't bad. A little warm for the windlite at times. Glad to get it in before the snow that might be around a while.

The "do over" actually made you think a little.

 

I mean if you hit one ob, that's a do-over, but like on 18, I hit a pretty easy sand shot to about 15 feet. The decision was "try to make one of two putts from there" or "try to hit another sand shot closer"

 

We're going to do a similar thing for ground hog day.

 

Ftr, I rehit the sand shot, hit it the same and then made the 15 footer for birdie.

 

But if you hit two good shots, hopefully you got in a spot where you had 8 feet for birdie twice or something like that.

Interested as well. I finally burned through my backlog of golf shoes with two pair ruined recently. One pair in an absolute monsoon at EPP with Seigs. Another in the mud the past month.

I threw away three pairs of shoes- even tried bleach to clean the mud and crap without luck.

Found two pairs of goretex Ecco’s that I posted a couple days ago. I stumbled upon them just looking at the higher end water proof shoes on Amazon and my size was $100+ lower than the other sizes. It’s pretty random. They are a season or two old I think. Both pairs have spikes and I haven’t had shoes with them in a couple years.

 

Still want to find a pair of comfy, dry day, walking shoes.

Does Scotchgard really work for shoes? What do you recommend?

100% scotch guard works. I used a no name silicone waterproofer and after a little compressed air post round, everything comes off.
