If you consider that this will be an annual "Tiger vs" event for the next 10+ years, it makes sense to have Phil be the opponent for the first year. Let's get real here, he's not getting any younger, this is the best he'll ever be going forward. Next year we'll see someone like Rors (well not if he keeps hating..) or BK maybe, but this is Phil's chance to go out on top.

Based on the relative lack of interest here on WRX, the most avid golfers on the planet, they'd be doing exceptionally well to get 1M subscribers.
