Woo Hoo!!!!!! I don't check the forums for a couple days and Ping decides to release the Blueprints!!!!

 

Super duper stoked. Just texted my local pro to pre-order 8-PW. Might go up to the 7 iron, but I smash the i500 7 iron like nothing else. Typical Ping keeping the release close to their vest.

 

There's some doubting posters still but the rep took my order and he told me the same thing for delivery date as a US rep told another customer ordering a partial set

 

You're like me 7-PW or 8-PW ... great way to build combo sets. The pro's all are doing some version of this across all brands nowadays .. hybrid > SGI > cavity back > blades

 

My rep won't confirm that they even exist. Mildly frustrating but maybe he's just waiting to floor me with an in hand the next time I see him...

It could be that I've spent a bajillion dollars on Ping equipment over the last 25 years. Good lord, the sheer # of irons sets and woods I have bought.

 

No offense taken. I'm on staff at my club with Ping and he's usually straightforward with me. He's being cheeky with this. I sent him a text with my specs and set makeup saying IF they ever came to be available what to order. Haha

Should be the same time frame as the Blueprint release. But, I'm sure you've also heard as much detail as possible as well. Surprisingly not a lot of solid info even coming from within on any of this.

July 4 release. No word on exact price other than higher than usual ping pricing.

My absolutely only issue is that screw. I just know it's going to be a tiny pain keeping it clean. Other than that these are easily in my top picks for something new to drop in the bag this year.

tgw used that price a while ago for iblades, but when they did they also took down the option to custom order. on the site right now, theres only one configuration available, LH, Blue Dot, AWT regular. So best guess is that price is just they wanted to blow out their inventory and arent ordering more. now the question is then is that in anticipation of new iblades, probably, but not necessarily soon, the iblades/s series have never been big sellers so they may just have figured two years is a good time to reduce inventory.

My bet is they'll be equal to glide forged ($199), but they basically won't be available in retailers... at least they aren't going to have a set on every rack everywhere. My guess is they'll send 7-irons to the travelling reps.

They're not getting demos. They're not going to have extra sets on racks either. First sets shipping July 4, at least that's what they're shooting for. They'd like the sooner if possible. Only thing they'd say ab price was "higher than our usual price offerings".
