Callaway epic flash? is this legit? (New Pics added Pg 1)

So what is flash face? Can somebody explain.

Flash face technology is a new process Callaway is using to design the face of the driver. The face is forged in a process where unicorn bones and fragments of Thors hammer are bonded with the material to make the face Callaways fastest and most forgiving driver on this planet.

LOL! I wonder which ingredient created the hideous color pattern???!!!

I’ll take a guess they have gone with these colours to be Masters colours.

First major and it’s about the time of year where golfers in cold areas are starting to play and want a new driver.

I hit it today, a tour club that a pro here just got. Tensei pro white tour stiff shaft, 9* with draw setting and weight in the middle. I play an epic subzero. First impression was it looks just a bit smaller at address, its loud and not a sound I really loved, and ball speed for me was about 2mph higher than my epic sz, although I couldn’t swing it as fast for some reason, so it evened out on distance. Shaft was probably wrong for me, I play at ust attas gogo tx and 12* loft typically, I probably won’t go out and get one right away.

It was better on mishits - I remember a toe hit specifically that I didnt make a great swing on - swing of like 105.5 with ballspeed of 157 that surprised me. I couldnt get more than 106 out of it and 158. With my epic sz I was consistently hitting 108.5 but ballspeed was hovering at around 159-160. Outdoor trackman at about 40* this morning.

Have you hit Rogue SZ?

Added some speed numbers above. Cant comment too much on flight as the loft was set up at 9 and typically I play 12*. Mid low bullets for me. Exactly same length and it felt lighter swingweight than my driver. Maybe headweight or shaft difference - not sure. Feel was different but I’ve never hit that tensei white before so that was probably it. Didn't have the forethought to swap my shaft into it. Got about 10 minutes with it was all.

I got to hit it last night. I have an 8 month old at home, so I am very rust, stiff, and slow. Have only played 3 times since 4th of July with no range time. Shaft was probably a little too much for me right now.

Topped out at 103 (anyone know how to find the 10MPH I lost?) and was hitting ball all over the face but lowest smash factor I saw was 1.45. Slower swing speed keeps my face to path much better, so dispersion was really tight. Tried my Ping G and Rogue, and the ball speed and dispersion were definitely better with the Flash.

Sounds is not great, but I was hitting in a fully enclosed teaching bay which may of exaggerated things.

Looks are a step down from the Epic and Rogue, IMO. The logo on the face is a joke. Paint finish wasn’t perfect.

Not a must buy for me, but I’m looking forward to demoing it outside.

Seems like the "flash" is a loud driver according to those who have hit it. I am still going to test the driver, but it doesn't sound like it will make it into my bag.

Graphics designer should be fired., why the heck would I want a line on my driver like that?
My thought exactly. Glad I love my Rouge.

My issue is the Rogue looks like a pancake compared to this and the previous Epic. Don't care what's on the bottom. It's what is in the inside and on top that counts to me.

I don't care about the bottom so much but that white arcing line on the top would probably get colored with a sharpie. Of course simply hitting it may change my mind. At first glance I dont care for that at all.

I hear you there. I personally don't mind it as I played quite a few Callaway drivers with a visible seam.

I look at it similarly - Performance, Shape and Crown design carry the day for me, in that order. Unfortunately, it seems most new drivers totally fail the eye test with colored crown segments or lines and raised features stuck on top for some reason. The American OEMs should fire the graphic designers or at lease keep them away from the tops of the their drivers.

I guess Titleist still keeps it clean, but I've never really cared for their drivers. For now, I'll stick with my flat black 816.

I am getting less annoyed by crown design. The two tone M1 and M2's from 2017 look pretty darn good from the top. I wrote off the Ping G400 line because of all the noise on the top of the club. After I caved in and gave it a shot, I realized that the club performs and I was easily able to forget about the extra stuff on top. While I still think the old Titleist drivers are perfect in the looks department (983K, 905R) I can live with what we are getting now. I don't really understand why all the paint and flashiness is necessary, but it's not really a deal breaker for me anymore.

5 same thread titles. Think you just set a record.

Sounds like I could pick one up once prices drop and send it to Continental for some new paint and some hot melt.

A friend sent me a picture if his and the colors just don't do it for me. Of course I also think the only good driver is a black one.

When's the release date for this and how much?

2/1/19. $529.99

Cally - $529

TM - $549

PXG - $575

What is going on?!?!?

My heart just skipped a beat!

I am surprised that the PXG is that low. The first price that popped into my head was $1000 for the new driver.

The best thing about the PXG driver price being lowered is that the yards per dollar that you are losing by playing it has dramatically risen compared to last year

Ping G410 LST 10* (DI-6X)
Ping G410 3W 15.5* (DI-7X)
Ping i20 3-PW (PX 6.0)
Ping Glide 2.0 51*SS, 56*SS, 60*ES (PX 6.0)
Ping Vault Arna

I thought the PXG driver was going to be a lot more too. Not sure what TM is thinking with pricing their new driver at $549. Almost just as bad as the P760 pricing structure..
