Callaway epic flash? is this legit? (New Pics added Pg 1)

Not sure where any negativity is coming from on the flash. Its generating buzz and the jailbreak tech, sound, and feel of the epic sub zero is the best out of any driver in the last decade. If the flash is improvement on the same, wow, I need one.

But I am curious about the screw face TM. I doubt it could beat the flash, based on TM previous models, perhaps its horizontal jailbreak....? But I think the flash will still be superior in 2019.

The headshape has already sold me on it. As long as it matches the Epic SZ performance without the structural issues, I'll be in heaven.

I'll stick with the beautiful Cortex

Weren't you one of the users so upset that anyone would say anything negative about Wilson in the Cortex threads?

Yep...correct..that's me.

Interesting that Callaway with flash face, and TaylorMade with flat face and red screws virtually everyone gets a hard on and wants/ needs it.

Cortex gets slaughtered because it's not a big boy

Flash face ... FFS....give me a break!

I’m with you here.....

I hit the Cortex. Three times on 3 different days...

It’s not that good man. Way behind in ball speed compared to my Rogue SZ and TS2 and way too spinny, even in its lowest spin setting, tried it in a few different shafts and couldn’t get it past 260 carry to save my life. It sounds alright but no better than my Rogue or TS2.

Cortex avg’s:

155 ball speed

256 carry

3100 spin

Rogue SZ avg’s:

160 ball speed

274 carry

2200 spin

TS2 avg’s:

166 ball speed

286 carry

2300 spin

So yeah cortex sucks sorry.

But wait here’s the best part!!!

I got better numbers with the C300 bahahahahahha now THAT’s hilarious.

Oh yeah and from to back and left to right dispersion was alright, nothing special about that either.

There is no way 2 drivers from 2018 have 11 mph of ball speed disparity. Is that a typo? If not, you weren’t remotely near the face.

I honestly couldn’t care less what you want to believe or not. I do this for a living and I see these things all of the time, these are my results from testing so take it however you would like. This is data taken from center to slight miss hits on all 3 drivers. Bad shots were deleted.

You do what for a living??

Looking at the Callaway web site I see that they aren't showing the Epic anymore, and that they have reduced the normal Rogue price by $100.

I think that I can understand the Epic situation. But why have they reduced the price of the Rogue? Are they closing it out or will it stay in their lineup at a better price?

So the TM thread says resin behind the face. Which is what callaway has done as best I can see. Going to be interesting to see how hot both of these things are. Theory being they are made super thin and illegal then the resin brings them back to the legal limit. That would explain the bAllspeed I saw. Most heads today aren’t at the top of the legal margin line. If they have the ability to adjust tour heads down to the very line individually that’s going to increase distances for sure.

Anyone know if CGP follows suit in terms of lowering used product prices, looking to pick up a used Rogue SZ.

So I went into a store today to look at the Cortex as well as hit the TS3. Hit against my gamer - an F8+. Cortex did not sound good at all, and I didn’t hit it with the right shaft, so that went back to the shelf quickly. The TS3 felt and sounded real nice but the numbers didn’t compare to the Cobra, though it wasn’t my preferred shaft (at least same stiffness). I was about to leave with the club, when the manager said he would love to sell me either driver, but told me to wait on the Flash. He hit it yesterday and was astounded versus his gamer, the M4. The guy is an ex college player so has game. Said the rep told him the Flash has an insert behind the face (and showed him the insert) that is the result of the computer mapping discussed here. I originally was just going to get the F9 because I get along so well with the F8+, but will be putting the F9 vs the Flash head to head at this point.

Okay, I am warming up to the colors, but I agree I think it was ultimately to make it more visible on TV. The subtle blue of the Rogue didn't stand out as much as the Epic, so why not meld them.

It's solid. I'm betting very very few of you have hit it. Your judgement is hilarity.

If you had an epic, and like it at address, then you'll get along with it fine.

I like to hear that, now just need it to be longer and straighter....lol.

Just got my Epic Flash Driver.

Awesome! Even has an extra weight. Are they just sending heads under the assumption that you'll be using your old shaft?

Also, the headcover is a nice touch. Looks to be of good quality.
