All those models and nothing glued in the States! :-(

I know I'm the minority, but when you have five plus models in the States and in all likelihood you have a glued option in Japan, why not add one more in the States?

Too much to ask for?

The problem is they would only sell 2.

1 to me and 1 to you.....

Many of us have come to expect a particular shape, look, and feel from our clubs. If they have found a way to give me more out of what I have long considered familiar than count me in for comfort and increased performance.

I was told the line on the crown was because soo many pros prefere the taylormade crown look for alignment. This line is supposed to mimick that.

Makes sense but a new name and little bit different look of the bottom would have been nice. Just seems like a lazy way out for a company to make a refurbished EPIC.

Doesn't the track seem small from one end to the other? Will it ACTUALLY do anything?

I don't mind a smaller track. On the original Epic I found that moving the slider any significant amount in either direction had a pretty detrimental effect on ball speed so I kept that thing as middle of the road as possible.

I shifted the weight into the draw setting and every golf ball in my bag instantly vaporised.

That's gonna get expensive if you're playing ProV1's. :)

Yes the track weight is similar to the original EPIC but I think the Epic FLASH is more about the NEW face technology. Callaway has always used some type of VFT in all of there woods. With this new face the are gaining more ball speed all over the face with FFT.

I think some people have expectations that are a little crazy. Original Epic was one of the best selling drivers of all time. Standard version is a refresh with new face tech. Subzero version now has a sliding weight. Those are two pretty significant changes.

If we want new releases every year, then it’s probably going to be pretty subtle moving forward. Any body have inside scoop on the stock shaft offerings?

I was surprised I held out on Rogue, but this SZ may be tough to pass with the slider, fixed front weight, and supposedly better looking shape.

I have no problem gaming the standard Epic for a 3rd season if need be. That new Mizuno may need a hit also.

I'd counter by saying that the updated face technology is a pretty significant change from one generation to the next of a driver model. I'm neutral on the sliding weight in the subzero -- maybe it'll allow people to tune their flight or move the COG a little bit to optimize things for people with a consistent miss. I know it's a bit of pre-release hype now, since most of us haven't been able to hit it yet, but if the reports of ~4mph of additional ball speed are accurate, that's over 10 yards, which is a huge gain at this point from one generation of driver to another. I know some people seem to not like the color, but I can understand why they want to keep the basic look of the line to be consistent. I imagine if the performance is real, a lot of people will get over their aversion to green and yellow or go the uDesign or Continental Golf routes. Calling it refurbished, based on the technology they're talking about, seems to be a pretty big undersell of what this is.

Sub Zero with a slider sounds like a good combo to me. Could be the year I finally play a lot of Callaway

Sub Zero Driver/Fairway and new Apex Pro Irons from what ive heard

Oh YES...agree. I LIKE the sliding weight in the Epic Flash SubZero...to me, that makes this PERFECT. I moved my Rogue SubZero because it was too fade bias and went back to my Epic GBB but I miss the low spin and the hotter JailBreak that the Rogue SZ had but flight was more important.

Epic Flash SubZero is PERFECT in that sense. I hope the screw in weights for the EF SubZero is the same as the Rogue as no one has commented on this yet...

I'm digging the deeper face, and these higher res pics make the yellow look more understated than some of the earlier pics. I think it's a good looking head, with the exception of the line on the crown.

I'll stick with the beautiful Cortex

Weren't you one of the users so upset that anyone would say anything negative about Wilson in the Cortex threads?

Yep...correct..that's me.

Interesting that Callaway with flash face, and TaylorMade with flat face and red screws virtually everyone gets a hard on and wants/ needs it.

Cortex gets slaughtered because it's not a big boy

Flash face ... FFS....give me a break!

Take this as an example. Every OEM gets shade when the new models come out. No OEM no matter how big or small is immune. I don't think Wilson has received as much negativity as the Callaway driver. I don't count their pricing being questioned as negativity as much as curiosity on market awareness. Especially given the color comments that have been thrown around in here. It is what it is. Don't be so shocked when your OEM of choice gets it's share of negativity and then go dumping in other threads.

I kinda regret not hitting this at demo day ~ 1 month ago. I saw it in the Callaway bin, and it didn't register that it wasn't really released yet. Instead I hit the new Cobra which looked and felt awkward. Dead and squishy. Tempurpedic on a stick.
