Can you adjust the hybrid and make it flatter so I don’t hook the hybrid like most?

also anyone try the putters yet?

Thanks guys stay safe!

I haven’t tried the putters or the hybrids, but I’m hoping they release a fixed hosel hybrid as I hate adjustable ones...

per the spec sheet you can only make it more upright with the adapter.

I think you can make hybrid upright only?  No loft adjustment.  But I will say I do not hook these hybrids at all, for me pretty neutral so far.

I'm playing Apex CF16 now. I don't play nearly as much as I'd like, so having the added forgiveness and oomph of a players' GI iron appeals to me. I looked into the 790, Cobra Forged Tec, etc. but the cost savings of the Sub70 helped.

Basically, I'm a 1 but I don't have the consistency for a players' cavity or muscle.

Makes perfect sense. I was just fit into P770s but are they worth double the price over the 699 pro? My ego says 639 but reality/fun factor says 699 pro. Enjoy the new sticks!

The 699s came in yesterday. They look wonderful. Of course after a couple weeks of fantastic weather in Houston, it turned rainy yesterday so not sure when I can get them on the course. Really excited to try out the 699 until it. Also, the $250 upgrade on the fairway wood for Ventus Velocore so it’s only $400 is a steal in itself, especially since I ordered on cyber Monday and got an extra 10% off.

Looking at the "restocking schedule", do you guys have any info on:

286 Series Forged Wedges

JB Bushnell Series Wedges

649 Forged Tour Blade

TA3 Forged Iron Series

849 Driver Series

799 Irons

Pro Tour Fairway

Jeezus, that's a lot of new product.  I remember some talk about new wedges, driver, and fwy ..... But not any of the others.  Patience I guess, as the golf season is officially over, at least outdoors it is!

Edit....and TA3, as in Tommy Armour?

Demoing Sub70 is really easy. If you're considering that over the 770s, give them a call and try them out.

They are one of the best values in golf... they are actually also just nice to do business with...

Jason is a good guy, and he genuinely loves what he does... it’s a refreshing concept.

I play the 699 utility and find it to be a good blend of forgiveness and playability while also looking pretty sharp. I could easily game a whole set of them.

I'd say they are about are about as big as JPX919 Hot Metal irons. I have the 699 Pros and they are slightly longer, heel to toe, than my 919 Hot Metal Pros. The difference between the 699 models is the thinner top line and decreased offset.

Working at the moment, but I can try to post some comparison photos later compared to like Apex '19, 919 Forged, 0211, etc.  I just got a set of 699's during the Black Friday sale--too cheap to pass up.  Pretty impressed if I might say in some limited action  More details later.

They're noticeably bigger, but not tremendously so, than my Apex CF16s. Very tolerable to my eye coming from that set.

So, I think I have determined that it is easier to win the Nobel Peace Prize, than it is to take comparison photos of golf irons.  But anyway, here is a lineup of 7 irons from what I discern to be smallest to largest.  And mind you, the differences are pretty small between most of them, and none of these are butter knives, nor shovels (at least to me).

From left to right, this is Apex 19, 699, 919 Forged, PXG 0311, C300 Forged, 0211 and 919 HM.  There are obviously some differences in offset, top-line and sole, but up until the 0211 and 919 HM in this comparison, again, differences are not great.

In terms of the 699 irons specifically, as I mentioned, I ordered during their Black Friday sale, 5-AW.  Went with KBS Tour 105 stiff shafts, which have worked for me in any irons I have played them in, and were no up-charge.  Ended up requesting the grips loose in the box, as I wanted to add prosoft inserts to the shafts before gripping them up.  Sub 70 shipped everything as requested, and also sent KBS labels unattached, presumably so that I could apply them after adding the grips.

I installed the prosoft inserts, gripped them up, applied the shaft labels, and had the chance to take them out a couple of times before the weather is turning this week.  They are not the best feeling irons ever, but they do feel nice.  Look is great--definitely not too large, but not too small to be intimidating.  Excellent turf interaction, even in very soggy winter conditions here in NJ.  I think they'll get a run at the start of next season when I see what I want to play regularly.

IMHO, definitely legit, and worth a look for anyone in the market.  YMMV.

Not sure if this is the perspective you are looking for, but here you go.  699 PW on the bottom in each photo.  Other than some additional girth on the backside of the 919 HM, even these are similar in terms of sole width and face size.

I just demoed their 739 GI iron. It was really solid. I’ve demoed most every GI the past few months and they held their own with any of them. I had my choices down to 2 but with these costing about half what I was planning on spending and similar performance I am going to give these a try.

Any update on the 739? How do they compare size wise to other GIs? thanks

To me they didn’t seem any bigger. I was close to buying a set of Cobra F9s before I demoed the 739s. Performance was very similar between the 2 for me. I decided to give the 739s a try because of the similar performance. Also after talking to on the phone and meeting Jason at their facility I couldn’t help but want to give them my business since the performance was the same. The irons definitely improved my game. Now I’ve got to stop 3 putting when I get a GIR. I did that way more this year than I ever have.
