This argument is completely stupid.

 

Its not the best field, the PGA Championship has a stronger field every year based on world ranking strength of field. There are a bajillion tour events with familiar courses. The fact that any average Joe journeyman can contend and win here makes it just like all of those other events not like the majors.

 

So majors don't allow or have journeyman winners?
