Clicgear 3.5+ (ACCESSORIES?!?)

Recommended Posts

So I’m going to buy a Clicgear 3.5+ as a gift. But I have no idea what accessories are needed or what it comes with.

I see an adjustable umbrella add on. Does this cart not have an umbrella holder? It somewhat reads that it does. Maybe it’s just not adjustable?

A 10.5” staff bag is what it’ll carry. Does it really need the $25 “Tour Kit”? Will a big staff bag not be held in place without it?

Any other must have accessories? Seems like a fair priced bag, but they get you with the accessories. I’ve never bought a push cart, so not completely sure what to buy. I searched these and think the 3.5+ is the one to get.

I have the following for mine:

  • Brush attachment, which is awesome on muddy or wet days
  • XL Cup Holder
  • Tour Bag attachment. My Ping Cart bag fit, but it was awkward so the tour attachment that stands the bag more upright makes taking clubs out easier and getting to the compartment easier
  • Cooler Bag - must need on hot summer days
  • Umbrella extension piece that swivels the umbrella

I will get the seat eventually, but I need to lose some pounds first!

Mostly PING clubs, with TaylorMade woods.

I had a Clicgear 3.5 and a 10.5” Vokey Staff Bag, I also had the Tour Bag Kit

It depends how you want to place the bag on the cart as to whether you really need it.....the issue is that The top bracket seems to be an inch or so lower than most other carts so it will rest on the top pocket and not the collar of the bag.

If you’re placing it sideways you may get away without it but it will definitely rub on the top of the bag, if like me you want it to sit so that the ball pockets and handle are facing up then you will definitely need it (and the large pocket will also rub on the frame)

The shoe brush and the xl cup holder are the only two must have's I've found. I typically play early in the morning so I haven't had a need for the cooler bag or the seat. The standard umbrella holder worked fine for me and since I have the e-wheels on my CG 3.5+ I have even less use for it.

Read all the replies so far and they are solid.

As a gift though? Things change.

#1 most people who don't walk don't walk. ^ ^ It could be a potential waste to go about getting accessories that are unneeded and unlikely to be used.

So this is the perfect place to also supply a gift card and let the recipient decide what works for them. You can guide them with what you figure out from us?

#2 The cart itself comes fairly well appointed.

Surely for me the accessories have added to that but they are not the be all and end all. Example I love the seat but haven't sat on it in a long time. Playing early or late or benches available. Just hasn't come up but if you play hit and wait on Sat afternoon might be priceless.

Basic carts come with a XL drink holder, cargo net etc all.

I actually have a ton of rounds with my Clicgears and some significant time with many of the accessories listed.

My 2 cents

The 3.5 comes with an umbrella holders. For many of us the adjustable holder is better but I play in the Pacific Northwest rain is a part of the deal here. I have to think that for most golfers they're not going to consider playing in the rain. So why spend the extra $30 for an angled umbrella holder?

I am the only one I know who loves the turning nob but its GREAT!!! I rate it as the #1 accessory.

Shoe brush could be used every round.

I have the seat, haven't sat on it in years. Depends on when and where you play etc all.

Again I have a friend that swears by the mittens he says they are a game changer for the bumper seasons but I can't vouch for them.

I've certainly gotten my trunk dirty several times I think the bag or wheel covers are a great way to go.

Meh it just all depends on how the recipient is going to use it on the golf course.

Ewheels??? now you're going over the top. Give the regular cart 30-60 rounds first.

Some like the 4 wheel carts and say they are easier to push I don't agree.

E-Wheels? I haven't even found that option. What exactly is it and what does it cost?

Arguably the best accessory :) https://alphardgolfusa.com/

Steering Knob is great - thankful for it every round.

Shoe brush is also handy after nearly ever round.

What exactly is the benefit of the steering knob?

As long as you got a cup holder and an umbrella holder of some sort you are set.

I actually really like my steering knob. Makes it much easier to maneuver with only one hand.

I also swear by the cart mitts. If you play when it's cold or rainy they are a lifesaver. I keep hot-hands packets inside them and it makes all the difference in the world. I like the insulated cooler too, I hated the stock plastic drink holder.

Thanks. I ordered, and the price of the cart nearly doubles with accessories. I got 7 accessories including the seat and seat cover. Will most likely buy the storage bag after its used a few weeks if needed. And the cart mitts toward the end of the year.

Thanks for the advice!

A seat is a must. Beyond that the adjustable umbrella holder is 10x better than the stock one. I also have the insulated cooler tube which is really handy for holding my drink bottle within reach. Also, I have the wall mount hook for storing the cart in my garage - keeps it off the floor.

You really don't need much... The shoe brush is cheap, so why not.... the only other accessory I have is the seat. I got it when my back was bothering me a bunch and it was really nice to have when waiting on the group ahead. I still attach it, but don't use it as much. Their designs are great IMO. Easy to install and use, but the cart out of the box is perfectly fine.

If you get the chance take some video of the first few attempts at set up and breakdown... always fun to watch people try and figure it out..LOL

Is the cart more difficult to fold up if you have the seat on it?

I have the XL Bottle holder, shoe brush and the sand bottle. I've thought about the adjustable umbrella holder, but I haven't had to play in the rain. I'll probably get the wheel cover at some point.

Does anyone know if the XL drink holder is big enough to fit a standard sand bottle??

No, definitely not. They make a sand bottle that utilizes one of the factory accessory attachment points. It functions as advertised, stays secure.. not much more I can think to say about it.

Appreciate your reply my man

Trying to find a way to use secure a normal sand bottle so I can just grab and go

Might try to make something

Let me know if you figure something out. I’ve been flirting with the idea of getting a sand bottle-sized cup holder 3D printed (I don’t have the Clicgear one currently).
