How would you compare forgiveness?

Forgiveness is very subjective but they seemed to be pretty similar. Distances in the longer irons are a little shorter in the dots, but I suspect that is due to the difference in lofts and lack of cup face (i.e. ball speeds will be down a little). The feel in the long and mid irons though more than make up for the loss of distance. It also seemed that spin rates were up as well throughout the set of dots.

Well thanks to the great reviews from @easyyy and others as well as the trade in bouns i have a set coming. I am still playing the 2014 Pros so I hope these are as good.

The dot irons feel and sound so much better than the regular. To me, this is a much different club compared to the non dot in looks, sound and feel.

I’m not doubting you at all. I guess I’m just looking for an explanation on how they are different in 8-P. All the info I can find says only difference in 8-P is offset and weaker lofts. I have no doubt the non cup face 7 irons down feel different.

Not sure, but they bent much easier as well. They could have felt better due to the cavity having more muscle or the different sole shape interacting with the turf differently.

Well now just in the waiting game to get the new irons, and then somehow figure out how to swap shafts with my current gamers I suppose (DG TI 120 vs Oban 115, anyone?). Problem is, of course, I just shot my first two 9 hole rounds of even par ever with the regular Apex Pros, now going to switch. Oh well, such is the WRX life.

Feel on the dot irons is similar to the blades as well as trajectory. The sole feels like it has a little more bounce and forgiveness through the strike compared to the blades. Same shafts and same specs.

I am not really seeing a thinner topline, just one that is a bit more squared off on the edges.

I’m curious too how much thinner the top line is and also how much smaller the profile is on the dot.

For anyone who has hit the Apex Pro '19 and the new Dot version head to head, how do you think splitting a set as follows would work: 4-5 iron Apex Pro, 6-iron down Apex Pro Dot? The Dot irons have me intrigued, as I want nothing to do with hot faces in a 6 or 7 iron, although I could use that extra help in long irons. Just wondering if the gap between 5 and 6 iron would be extreme.

The top line is a little thinner and the trailing edge grind of the sole is a little straighter/thinner. Overall profile size is about the same although the scoring lines are longer on the dots which I think makes them appear a little bigger. They feel unreal. Very soft and great turf interaction.

look at the hosel?

- no badges, inconsistent finishes across all heads, the 4i was refinished only, no showing of the TC/TA stamping (if applicable), just...reeks of amateur attempt.

Well, I should've looked more closely. I think you are right. I didn't realize the non dots had the dot below the iron number on the sole.

Agree, topline is marginally thinner, but not anywhere near a blade look. And they feel just fantastic, even when hitting range rocks, they sizzle like they're smushed.

How do you think that trailing edge relief changes turf interaction? I really like the Dots, just going to need to get them shafted with my obans (ugh, I hate CC for letting me hit these...) and can't wait to see how buttery they feel once they're spec'd out.
