MCC or MCC Plus4 Grips

Dont see any tour player with the Plus4 MCC Grips only the regular MCC. Have the regular MCC on all my Titleict clubs since years and regripped them again with the regular MCC. Have tried a Plus4 on a friends driver months ago and did not feel any difference. Is it worth to switch to the Plus4 or a marketing hype vom GolfPride. What is your opinion.

Marketing hype? They're actually thicker/less tapered at the bottom. They offer them along side their other grips so that you have a choice in which you prefer. There's no "marketing hype."

I have them on all of my clubs, and love the feel and control I get with them. If you've tried them and notice no difference, then I'm not sure why you'd bother to pay [more] for them.

I can tell a huge difference and it's mostly just comfort and gripping less tight with the +4. I have a few clubs with +4 and the rest reg MCC midsize and just trying them out to see what I like better. Finding I really like the +4 with my wedges and they are slowly working into the rest of my irons but I prefer the regular on my driver and 3 wood.

Same here, midsize Plus 4'S in all my clubs. I use them because they are comfortable and I don't feel like I need a "death grip" on the club.

I enjoy the feel of the +4's, but I can't say it's changed my scores one way or the other.

the tour pros have guys in the equipment van build up each grip on the bottom 1/2 if they prefer it that way, it takes some time and it's a PITA in my opinion. Since I'm not a tour pro, and I regrip my own clubs I love the Plus 4's, they are on all of my clubs. Also some don't like the slightly softer feel the Plus4's have, they are slightly more squishy on the bottom 1/2 than the MCC, but not so much that it bothers me. My favorite grip by far.

I went with midsize Plus 4's on my new set of Mizuno Hot Metal Pros that I got this Spring. I had never tried the Plus 4 model before but have used the regular in the past and liked them, and since I like the feel of larger grips figured the Plus 4 would be perfect for me. Unfortunately, the change hasn't really worked out so far. I've had a hard time getting used to them coming from the Dri-Tac midsize. I might have been better off going with the Plus 4 in standard size or maybe the regular MCC in midsize. I have since heard on here from some others that the Plus 4, with the larger profile for the bottom hand, can be a great fix for those who are fighting a hook due to the fact that the bigger size at the bottom can limit the rotation of the bottom hand a bit. I have the exact opposite problem with my swing, however, and I think maybe the grip is actually limiting my ability to release the club a tiny bit. Anyway, I just replaced the grip on the 8-iron with a Dri-tac as an experiment to see if that fixes the problem. The jury is still out on that one after a couple of trips to the range. The MCC grips are great though; I think the Plus 4 option is probably just a matter of feel and personal preference.

Curious as to how you like the Best Grip oversize. I’ve played MCC Plus 4 midsize for a few years and recently went back down to the standard plus 4 but wrapped to midsize for swing weight considerations. Best Grip has me intrigued to say the least!

The size of the plus 4 is so perfect in the lower hand but they are just to squishy it feels like the club is moving around to me. But I have been a cord player my whole life and like the firm feel. They are making the Zcord with the align feature...I’m praying they make it in plus4 eventually. Lamkin standard+ players cord is another good option.

I agree regarding the squishiness, but I also can't stand the grips in general, but for a very specific reason. Anything in the golf world that is designed to limit a natural tendency has the opposite effect on me because I perceive what its trying to do and I consistently overcompensate. GIve me an MCC+4 and i'll start hooking the ball because I naturally strengthen my right hand and release it harder due to the perception that the grip will limit me from doing that. Same thing with a club face that sits open, i'll hook them every time for similar reasons.

I'm hoping to play either today, and/or, tomorrow. Best grip doesn't seem as big as I feared it would be. The +4 grip does seem slicker than the plain version, especially on the lower part.

I ended up re-gripping my whole set to MCC +4 align. Really like the feel and size of them (I'm 6'3"). They do feel a bit squishy in the lower hand compared to regular MCC midsize but I think it's something I'll get used to and can deal with because of the comfort of the bigger size. Still waiting for the day they make GP full cord midsize again and would be amazing with +4. No idea how they don't have these because I'm sure the demand has gone up a lot for these recently with so many tour guys using them, even younger ones changing to these (Tiger, Rory, JT, Koepka all top guys I can think of that use them).

I would love a Z Cord plus4. I've always been a Crossline Cord player but trying out the MCC +4 for now. I think the soft lower hand is a lot less noticeable on steel shafts versus my wood and hybrid shafts for some reason.

They are excellent on wedges, choking down on an MCC may as well be gripping steel.
