If you break 80 tip the forecaddie $50.

If you break 90 tip the forecaddie $40.

If you break 100 tip the forecaddie $30.

If you shoot over 100 ask the forecaddie if he can loan you some money.

Wait, so if we play in 3.5-4 hours the forecaddie is making between $90-120/hr? Anyone else weigh in on the standard tipping for a forecaddie for a foursome at Bandon? I am going in a month.

He/she is not an hourly employee.  Consider them salaried with certain skills, relative to that resort, that you don't have, but that you need to cut multiple strokes off your score.  There's a value to that.

That $120 bottle of cabernet sauvignon will taste a lot better later when you're recalling your score.

I believe forecaddies are less, not the $100 + tip per bag. Their website recommends ~$150 total for a forecaddie based on how many are splitting. For my money, an individual two bag caddie is worth it if you'd like it, but if you're looking to save the money, I'd rather save the ~$40-$50 per round for drinks / to gamble than have a forecaddie based on my experience.

Seems like if there is a caddie (carrying two bags) the total is $150 per bag so caddie make $300 for round

If you choose to have a forecaddie for group (not carrying) the foursome pays $40-50 man so 40-50 x 4=$160-$200 for the round.

Just checked course camera for 7 green on OM.  Beautiful day as the sun rises.  Now I wish I wasn't sitting in an office working.

On topic of cameras - I wish they would add one on top of the turnstand at Trails so you could see green on 7, all of 9, and then all of 11.  I'd watch that one all day.

I'd like a close cam on the 14th green, now that would be entertainment.

Hoping to book for September 2025. Waiting for that email is excruciating! I saw a post by dcmidnight that detailed the past email dates and times for October, November and December. Can anyone provide the date/time for the emails that came out in January and February? I gather it’s typically released the first Monday or Tuesday of the month, but occasionally they wait until later, which looks to be the case this month (lucky us).

I'd like a couple cameras in the pro shops so I can see all the good merch I'm missing out on...

Best webcam on the course by far. I often spend a minute or two daydreaming at it.

I'd like more cameras at Trails or PD as well.

If you think that is excruciating wait until you are booked and waiting to go. Will be there in May and booked Jan of 2023. Been  a long wait and a lot of studying yardage books

Ha, I know! There will be huge excitement once we’re booked followed by a very looooong lull while we wait for the trip.

I'm going next July and will have the next year to train myself into playing 36 holes per day for 3 days...

It is really not that bad. Once you're there you are just kind of in it. I will say the plane back home is not very comfortable afterwards with sore legs and lower back.

Bonus though if you book a suite or some of the newer lodging they have those Therabody recovery leggings. Those seemed to help a lot.

Maybe this has been mentioned - but are they downsizing the practice green at Sheep?  or am I simply seeing a conversion of the grass?

Since being there in December, it looks like they are only pinning it on one side and the grass is clearly coming in from the right side.

I noticed this looking at the webcam the other day. I'll be there in less than three weeks, I'll try to remember to ask.

I am tired just looking at this.  I respect the 36 hole daily grind, but even at my ripe old age of 33, it's not for me.  Even on my December trips where I generally only play 2 days, I do 36-27 and am always torn when I leave on if I was pleased I played all the golf I could, or if I should just have posted up one afternoon at the Trails clubhouse and drank Guinness until the sun went down.  The golf is so good there that it's hard to find time to get any relaxation and rest in, at least in the months with shorter days.
