Are the Ping Blueprints worth it?

I have been playing the iblades since release and love them. However, both the blueprints and i210 have really piqued my interest over the last few weeks. I like the idea of the i210's being more forgiving but still workable, and those blueprints just look so good. In an ideal world, I would obviously get fitted and see if the blueprints or i210's are the right clubs for me, but there is no golf shop anywhere close to me that has the blueprints. I was just hoping anyone who made the switch or didn't could chime in and give their honest opinions. Have a great weekend everyone!

I like my 1210s a lot, but they are considerably bigger than the blueprints.  I don't really need my combo sets to look similar throughout the set, so I guess they could work well together if you can work out the lofts.  BPs are absolutely gorgeous and look fantastic behind the ball.  I agree with another poster who said that they are really thin but there's something about how great they look that adds confidence.  Maybe it's partly the tungsten weight that adds some confidence.  Or maybe the higher heel that gives a sense of more face surface than you might think with the small heads.

I've "combo'd" them for sheesh, over a year now. Time flies.

I have a pretty good driver speed. I hit about 255-260m literally at sea level. Play to a 10, and what I'd tell you is that I'm considering buying the 5-iron i210 to go with my 4-iron 210. The 5 gives me some trouble, but I'm in my mid forties and play once a week. I anticipate when summer comes around, I'll be fine with it. But the 6-P Blueprints have been stellar. The 5 is great, but I reach my physical limits handling it right now - but that's on me.

My cap has come down 5 points since getting these irons. Just make sure you're not overstating your game with the longer irons. The 210s are a great club, and I'd strongly suggest that you be humble about where your switchover happens, but don't be afraid of the short irons. They are awesome.

"Golf is just a dance with a stick, and a ball tells you how good a dancer you are."  LCP150mm in your fairway should be a full-time rule.

I play to a 6 (so not great but not clueless) and the idea of playing these even in the short irons is crazy.  Just too small.  I’m a decent iron player and ballstriking is my strongpoint but it’s hard for me to imagine anyone who isn’t a -2 or better having these be a good choice.  The iblades I had no issue with.  The i210 look great.  I game the i500 and wish they were a smidge smaller but overall think they are great.  The  blueprints give me a anxiety even thinking about hitting out of the lightest rough...

Do they sting the hands?

I would say no. I find them extremely forgiving. The toe weight helps with the off center strikes.

I have never been a ping iron guy. I’ve always played mizuno or titleist forged irons. I absolutely cannot stand the notch in the hozzel. When I saw these being more “traditional” I had to give them a go.

I’m playing them with ctaper x and tour velvet 360 grips with 3 wraps. This combo has resulted in what I would say a nice “solid” feel. Not the “buttery” feeling but not “clicky” either. My personal preference is a small compact shape at address and these irons don’t disappoint.

I would highly recommend these irons to anyone in the market for blades.

I love my 919 Tours and the only club I keep think of changing to is the Blueprints but I want to wait to see what the new blades look like next year.

I am a long time Ping player and in the last two years I’ve owned i210, i500, g410, and g700 Ping irons. Just bought a set of the blueprints. I am a 10 handicap and I would say an average iron player. I love these irons. Accuracy, distance control, and ball flight much better for me than any of the others. Some of it could be the shaft (KBS90 Tour). In the 4-5 rounds I’ve played, I shoot the same scores with the Blueprint irons as the others. I don’t see I’m giving up anything and believe that ultimately I will become a better iron player with these clubs. The satisfaction level for me personally is quite high, at least thus far.

Can't say anything bad about the Blueprints, but Mizuno blades are better feeling and less expensive with better stock shaft options.
