I tried it, it's awesome. I was purposely stabbing behind the ball to hit it fat and it popped straight up in the air in front of me about 30 yards. That's exactly what I want a lob wedge to do out of gnarly junk.

When they say face will rust, no joke! That rusted pic is telling, thats real deal full face rust. Ive always played raw wedges but most of them are spotty with their rust on the face. This is a level up, I can't say my eye really likes it especially with the chrome body. With the black wedge- the rusting will blend in far better.

 

The big foot is a winner. Great headshape - square leading edge, square. The sole makes sense although I wish it was a bit smaller. I'm definitely interested.

The black looks amazing and the chrome looks like garbage. Never have I seen two polar opposites on wedges.

Have you tried the 4-way grind on the Hi-Toe? It plays almost exactly the same as the LB C-grind, but it has just a touch wider sole (0.75mm), so there is slightly more effective bounce but the difference is small. It's essentially a low bounce grind.

Because the general golf club buying public (i.e., non-WRX) doesn’t want a rusted head. They perceive it like a rusted hammer, wrench, or screwdriver - old and neglected.

 

Sitting on the shelf at Golf Galaxy or Dicks, when the heads start to spot with rust, they don’t sell. That’s why there is an airtight seal over the face of this wedge, and why the Nike Engage wedges were wax sealed.

 

The MG2 is an attempt to please both sides.

Is the black the same finish as the Vokey black so you strip it easily to make it all raw or is it like the Cleveland that does it over chrome?

Wish the Bigfoot came in a 54 or 56. On the website it only shows 58 and 60. Id like to get a Bigfoot as a sand wedge then a lower bounce lob.

I definitely see a 54 and 58 Bigfoot in my future. The black finish reminds me of the old Y-cutters. I loved that finish and I remember it being really durable. I like the meatier back for better topside contact, too!

I doubt they will be available for sale early but if you preorder they usually ship those out early. I have a 52 black MG2 on order and should get that a few days earlier than the actual release of Sept 9th
