You fooled me with the pic. Was zooming in to see what the 919 replacements looked like. Didn’t realize it was an mp-20 for like 8 seconds. Do you feel like they give you the forgiveness you need? Asking cause I see you’re a 14. I’m slightly higher, and really liked the feel, but talked myself out of them thinking they were over my head...

I will tell you a story. My brother 2 yr ago bought the 2018 mmcs. Me and him are about the same golfer. Hes maybe a tad better with irons then me but not by much. When he showed them to us we thought... good luck with those. Well he played some of the best rounds of his life with them. Fast forward to earlier this year and i played a full round with his. They were sooo forgiving i was in shock. I mean gi iron on an almost blade. It seems unreal lol. So i went and bought the mmc mp20 version and they are the same thing just a better look to me. The softness is unmatched on every iron in the bag. Ive hit alot of irons... some are just nice feeling from 4 to 6 then get a little more harsh from 7 down. Not these. The whole set is just consistenly soft and forgiving. The amazing part is... i havent once come up short yet on any miss hits... this is just my experience so far. Best set ive played to date. Highly recommend to anyone who can decently strike a club. I just shot 85 with them i wouldnt be able to do that if they were too pro for me.

The MMC line from Mizuno is by far the best irons I’ve gamed from them! And I’ve played a lot from both lines over the years. I have my set bent to 4deg gapping from a 22 deg 4 iron to a 46 deg PW. They are really the best of both worlds. I will have them in the bag for at least another season. I’ll probably try a set from the new JPX line but have no plans to sell the MP20 MMCs.

I don’t know of anyone on tour gaming the MMCs. Surely someone is. But anyone who would game the AP2 or T100 would probably absolutely love the MMCs!

This is awesome to hear. I generally teeter around the low 90’s range but dip into the high 80’s as well. Every time I go hit a new club the fitter/employee doesn’t believe my handicap. Need to do a better job of translating those hits to the course. I’ve had my eye on these for a few months. I actually bought them a few weeks ago and then got nervous and returned them. Only since we’re so close, I think I’m going to wait to see what the 919 replacements look like, in the event they offer me something I need for my game. Otherwise, I love everything about these MMC’s, and your story might have just given me the confidence to make the jump. I appreciate that.

Vosh texted out a pic of the demo heads in plastic, so I don’t see why the cone of silence persists. On the other hand I’ve got 919 forged arriving tomorrow so Mizuno is gonna have to get buy without my $$$ for a year or two.

i shoot anywhere from low 80s to mid 90s... i know crazy right lol my bread and butter is driving and putting with iron play being solid enough. If aproach and short game is on im going low.. if drive is off and chipping is bad... bye bye round. First round with them i shot 95 but that wasnt due to the irons 1%. Second round i used more irons and shot 85. My only hope is mmc stays around for a long time with mizuno. For sure ive learned that other irons makers make very nice irons for sure... but mizuno is just on another level. Really outstanding.

Hey, I understand that kind of spread in scores. Some days my irons can’t miss, others my putter can’t miss. Matching those two up into one round is a challenge!

Got the MP 20 MMCs on May 14 (fitted and everything). I was an 8.4 handicap on that day. Today (7/19) I am a 5.3.

Kinda just surprised myself cause I wasnt sure how my index has changed since I got the clubs until now.

The fitting also really helped. My lies angles were all screwed up and the shafts I was playing were too light.

But hey, the numbers dont lie.

Ran to PGA to see if I could take a couple swings with the 919 forged before making an impulse purchase..not even on the floor anymore :/

You need to buy used or wait 2-3 months for the new 921 jpx line. I know people are gonna jump in and tell you they’ll be available in September, but for any custom orders Mizuno and most OEMs are 5-6 weeks out on orders.

I've just ordered some jpx 919 in my local drummond about a week ago, I've received a call this morning to inform me that mizuno are no longer making them and I'll be receiving the new jpx 921's at the same cost and I will receive them either the last week of August or the first week in September. Apparently that will be at least two weeks before anywhere else. Really keen to give them a hit so it's going to be a long painful wait.

I find it hard to believe you’re getting the 921’s at the same price as 919’s considering orders for the 919 line ended 3 weeks or more ago. It’s my understanding the price per club has gone up on the 921 Tour and Forged models. Hot Metal clubs haven’t gone up in price IIRC. As of 2 hours ago, my rep couldn’t take my 921 order since there’s no SKU’s in Mizuno’s system to order the new line from.

By the reference Drummond im going to assume an Aus purchase. I have had this happen before also with drummond. Happily took my payment and order for an ST190 driver and couldnt fill this order so was offered a ST200 OR a refund.
