With TGC’s current direction, there is NO way it’ll be around in 3-5 years. The drop in quality programming is astonishing...and that was before playing the same 2 rounds of golf for the last 2-1/2 weeks.

When the membership here, being as hardcore a group as you could ever find, stops tuning in on a regular basis because the programming is so bad, there are serious issues. It almost seemed like someone was reading here as we got the matchplay and the Open Championship, that was awesome.

Bit now, they want to charge so we can watch reruns. Writing their own death sentence.

I had actually forgotten how much I enjoyed the earlier versions of the show before it became whatever it was at the end. I also have it on in the background today and I have to say, it's not bad for background noise.

watching big break as well in background. Season 2 looks like but man these guy suck. Missing greens by 20 yards on 185 yard shots, hitting drives like 260 yards and missing fairway by wide margin. Everyone looks past 40 years old with some retirement age. They really thought these guys could make it on tour?

It was a television show, meant to entertain. Most of them were probably very decent players, but not used to the pressure, and the format was nothing like playing a real round.

Just finished up big break 2 Vegas. The female host probably said 10 words thru the whole series. Not sure if host was the right word for whatever she is doing there. Was this a one and done gig for her or was she on further episodes? I didn't start watching until the later episodes so this old stuff is new to me.

Weren't their wardrobes so cringe? Leslie Swanson was the best chick IN LAS VEGAS they could find for eye candy? Woof.

The finale was so cringe too. Don Donatello practically crying when he lost to Kip by Sallying a 4ft putt, didn't even shake his hand afterward.

I'll say one thing though Kip's gf/wife was pretty smokin if you watched til the end. He scored her with Eminem hair.

They need to rerun the Finau season.

I truly believe the Golf Channel, as we know it, is history. Their run of luck with Tiger Woods is over. If they had come on the air with this schlock programming in 1985 instead of 1995 they would have been DOA a long time ago. Arnie is gone. Orlando is gone. Welcome to the real world. Golf is even more "niche" than ever before. The future of "televised" golf is with live-stream, on-demand, smart TV and "Masters Online" type programming where golf fans can pick and choose as they wish. Much needed and long awaited.
