What weight did you play steelfiber and what weight are the mmt?

I played i95 Reg in the steel fibers, but I injured my shoulder two years ago have lost a ton strength and speed. I went with the MMT 70 Reg and they have been good.

My Gen 3 0311T showed up today, no shipping notification and on the 7th business day from the day order was placed.  Only hitting some 50% shots in my garage but my takeaway from these with the Elevate Tour shafts are that they are a slightly larger S55 with less offset and the Elevate has somewhat of a Modus feel.  I am absolutely in love already.  They sound just like a Ping iron, muted thwack with a soft feel.  Very happy upon first glance.  Hope to get them out this week.

Just shows how crazy and subjective feel is. I had z585 irons and switched to Gen3 0311’s and to me they feel much better and softer than my 585’s did.

You are so right about perception of feel.  I shuffled around with multiple Srixon sets looking for the magic perfect blend of feel/performance.  Sometimes I think I confuse great feel with knowing where I struck the ball on the club face.  My favorite was the Z945 over the ZForged and all the CB’s.  The ZX7 was the closest cavity to the Z945.  When you make your point and I really think about it I would be accurate to say my perception is the O311P Gen3 feels super nice when flushed (but many do) and they have a pleasant muted feel with anything close to center.  Not a ton of rounds on mine yet, but up to now slight off center hits are difficult for me to “feel” if I missed center slightly on the toe side or slightly heal side.

The other variable for me is this is my first go with Accra Tour shafts, with my norm being Recoil or SteelFiber.  Everything “feels” a little softer with Recoil.  I am thinking the Accra may be closer to the SF, and that could contribute greatly to me perception.

Going to get fit next Tuesday for The Gen 3 0311p’s. My luck they will raise the price back up before then.  Looking to move into graphite shafts to alleviate pain from my angry elbows.  Currently playing Project X lz 6.0 in Srixons z585’s.  Price point for a 5-PW at just over 1k with graphite shafts seems like a good deal.  Will report back on how the fitting goes and what I ultimately go with.  Will test against Gen 4’s, T100s/T200, Mizuno 223/225’s and Srixons zx5,Zx7.

FWIW, Recoil and SteelFiber saved my golf by completely ending my horrid elbow issues.  My Gen3 0311P’s have Accra Tour shafts and they also spare me of all elbow discomfort.  If I hit someone else’s irons with steel for 15 shots on the range, my elbows are killing me the next day.

I hope graphite rewards you in the same way.  IMO, cushion provided by Recoils is the greatest, but the Accra and SF seem just a little tighter to me.

I just got back from my fitting and I’m down to 2 choices.  PXG 0311P’s (5-Gap) with SF 95cw stiff and Titleist T100s (6-gap), Titleist T200 (5 iron) with Tensei White stiff.    The stock Tensei shaft gave me almost identical numbers to the steel fibers and felt a little more lively. Performance was pretty much the same with PXGs going 2-4 yards further.  With the Titleist I was averaging 117 MPH ball speed and carry was at 168 yards.  The PXG had a average of 120 and 171.  The PXGs tested were the Gen 4 so 2 degrees (I believe) stronger than the Titleist. I would probably purchase the Gen 3’s to save money and they are only 1 degree stronger so #’s should be close.

I know Titleist is backed up on the 100s heads at this time and this has me leaning towards PXG but the heavy strike of Titliest felt great.   I might wait until spring to get fit by the same guy but on grass.  Living in Iowa and just got 14 inches of snow but would like to take the new set to Sandhollow in March.

I don't think I saw this in this thread - Does anyone have experience with the Gen 3 or 4 set gap wedge?  I have a fitting next week and was wondering if I pull the trigger if I should go with the set matching 50*.  My current 50* is a TM MG, so probably due for a refresh.  I only really use it on full shots, I use a 54 and a 58 for anything inside about 105 yds.  I am thinking I could probably use the forgiveness of the set GW.

I have a Gen3 gap wedge.  I really like it for full shots.  It's also my go to club for shots from 40-80 yards.

I also have the Gap wedge in the Gen 3.  I have about 10 rounds with it so my opinion may change?  The performance has been what I would expect, but to be 100% transparent it looks a little chunky to my eye.  Not grossly so, but it will not remind you of a Vokey or Jaws when you grab/hit it.  I want to continue with it into our normally wet/ soft spring season and the turf interaction will decide for me if I bag it throughout soft conditions.  I am a pretty big fan of the new Ping Pro Forged, so that would be my move.  Having said all of that, the PXG is nothing but different from my usual Gap.

I actually have the Gen3 0311 XP GW with my set. It’s the first matching gap wedge I’ve ever played. It performs great and I haven’t had any issues with it. I haven’t played in summer or firm conditions with it yet, but so far so good.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Looks like a ping i210 honestly with less offset

They have that satin Ping look but are much more appealing to the eye than the i210 IMO.  They are slightly larger than the S55 with less offset showing and with the back edge of the top line beveled, the entire top line looks sharper.  The sole of the 0311 is also more narrow than the i210....

Not yet, really...  I had hoped to put them through the motions today at the range but after 15 wedges and then 5 pw shots, my back went out and I had to leave the bucket there.  Was supposed to play tomorrow so if I can magically pull it together, I will get an idea of how they are in the real world.   But I will report back for sure once I get them out.  I will say, the 5 pw shots I did hit were all out of the toe, like I may need a flatter lie angle, IDK, but the ball still flew about 120 which for me is just short of a normal flushed PW.  That's about all I can speak to ATM....

After three seasons I swapped Ping i200s for 0311Ts late last season, and returned the Ts after a few rounds. Beautiful looking and feeling clubs, but they were not at all forgiving on toe misses. A strike slightly out towards the toe would lose 10 to 15 yds. Ouch.

I bought the 0311Ps, and they were much better. Strikes near the tow might lose 5 yds. The Ps at address are roughly the same as the i200s, but with less offset, and the sole is much narrower.

I'm a low spin player, so I was initially drawn to the Ts because they produce more spin than the Ps. However, it didn't matter much since I couldn't make consistent contact with the Ts. The Ps have no problem holding greens.

If you're a high spin player the P will likely be a better fit.

I went back to the Ts after 6 - 12 months of testing my old Miura 1008s with some MMT 125 TX.  Compared to the 1008s, the Ts feel like SGI in a nice, compact package.  They get up, they go forever, they feel great.  The only downside is the irritating hosel design (which I absolutely hate).  That said, the only thing it does really is stop me from changing ferrule / grip combos frequently - which isn't the end of the world.

I have 1008s, Miura BBs, MP4s, MP29s, 2013 X-Forged, Epon 302, 690.CBs, Ping Gs (and maybe a couple other sets I've forgotten).  The Ts are the most forgiving of the group other than the Gs (which I tried to get myself to like a few years back, but just couldn't stand the look of).

The Ts feel as good as any of them as well imo (though the BBs might edge them out on a perfect strike by a hair).
