How would you compare 0311t to p750/p7mc/jpx921 tours? Size, offset and forgiveness wise. Looking at 4 iron gen3 P and 5-pw in the 0311t

Here are some comparison pics of the Gen 3 0311P 4 iron next to a Titleist 620CB 4 iron.

I also own a set of i210s, but got rid of the PXG so I don’t have any photos. By recollection, the PXG seemed a bit bigger.

Thank you really appreciate that. Yeah I’m definitely leaving towards just the 4i in the 0311p tight holes long par3 and some extra help on par 5 second shots.

You ain’t kidding haha I’ve played some mbs before settling for the happy medium players cbs. Miura blades being “the ones that got away” even I saw zero use of a 4 iron 🤣 my fingers and hands say no thanks.

PXG Ps is definitely not bigger than the Pings. Here are i200s, and they're basically the same size as the i210s. The Ps are slightly longer, but the top line is similar, and the bounce is much less.

Interesting. It's probably the more rounded leading edge of the Ping that makes the turf interaction feel so different.

I like a little more bull and forgiveness on my 4-5i. With the screaming deal PXG has going right now I’m thinking of doing the 211st 6-pw then 311 p 4-5i. Anyone know if that’s a good idea? Still should have consistency throughout the bag distance-wise?
I’m a 27 y/o single digit handicapper (5-9 range) who’s looking to upgrade from my 2011 Taylormade mc’s. Looking for a bit of a thicker top line with potentially more forgiveness and distance than decade old tech. Anyone have an opinion on if this set would do the trick? On sale right now and ship much quicker than the other brands rn

Have had mine gen 3 P out for one range session and 9 holes over the weekend. So far really like the look and feel. I'm getting some winter rust off right now so not hitting the ball great. I'm coming from 919 forged. The PXG do seem a little bigger and ticker overall that the 919F. My distance seemed down to me but also in mid winter, playing in the 50s and not getting great contact so that could be it.

Looks like the weather is going to be good enough to get some practice and a round in over the weekend so i'll see if I can get a better feel. I want to do some direct comparisons with my 919Fs and make sure it's my swing causing distance loss right now and I don't have a poor fitting club or shaft. I went from C-taper lites in my 919 to the elevate tour both in stiff so its a 7 g different in shaft so I doubt that is going to cause too much distance loss.

Aging hacker here, nearing 70 and with a hi of 11-12.  After a bunch of injuries over the last four years, I've mostly healed but figured I was headed toward hybrid irons or big super game improvements.  But then I did a fitting and ended up buying a set of 6-W 0318 Ps with MMTs in November with the reduced price.  Delivered in 10 days.  Feel great, go long, and they've helped me with an intemperate hook that bedevils me at times.  Have been through a bunch of sets of irons and these are, simply, superb.

I go out and hit my XPs really well, then wonder if I should’ve gone with the P’s instead, or a combination of the two.

I don’t know why we do it, but it seems like so many of us find a set that works really well, and we want to change to something let’s say… “more challenging?”

I’ve been down that road before, and I’m not going down it again. Maybe it’s the fact I’m 67 yo now, but I enjoy pulling a club that I know is designed to give me the help I need on those increasingly more frequent days when my body isn’t firing on all cylinders.

I’m always going to be the guy who tinkers with certain areas of my bag, but I think I’m set for quite a while with my iron and wedge setup.

I would say this is accurate.  My 0311T are a bit grabby through the turf and I think not having that leading edge at least softened a touch does not suit my game.  They feel REALLY good, but turf interaction could be slightly more friendly for me.

So, confirmation bias is when you read things you want to believe, right?  Coming back to this thread made me book a fitting yesterday.  set has been ordered.

Now I'm second guessing everything.  I had my old irons for so long, nothing ever felt right.  Cally Diablo Forged.  Wore them out and had to get a new set.  The 0311P gen 3 felt okay, but not as good.  Went thru a bunch of shafts and they didn't even feel that different to me.  Wound up in DG regular, which I have never played.  My 7 iron ss was high seventies, and I'm  usually 84 or so.  It was cold outside with range balls, but Trackman was running.  Maybe I was tight, IDK.

Someone tell me it will be all right.

Which DG?  The Elevate Tour?  I am typically around 86 with 7i and I found the Elevate Tour stiff to feel a little light (or the heads were heavy) and even a touch soft but they were accurate, so no complaints there.  Don't know where you are but maybe you could hold off on the order and try a fitting again once it warms up a bit?  It will take some time to adjust if you have been in the same irons for such a long time.  Be patient with the new sticks, whatever they may be.

Happy to say I did an iron fitting with an open mind, comparing my current ZX-5 set (which I feel like spin too much and have lost distance due to this). The fitting (here in the Atlanta PXG store) was great and I was right that I'd lost a good bit of distance with my ZX-5s. I was fit into a mixed set of 5-7 in the P model and 8-G in the T model with the Elevate Tour shafts (which surprised me because I was thinking I needed lighter shafts since I'm getting older but I hit them so good). I was not planning to get a gap wedge as I'm pretty happy with my ZipCores but it was just too dang easy to hit. Ordered on 4/6 and they're set to arrive on 4/18. I appreciate the quick turnaround and I'm looking forward to a driver/woods fitting next.

Great setup. Enjoy. I was fit for mine over a year ago and they have been nothing but exceptional for me. At times I do wish I went 8-GW in the T’s. Let us know how you like the woods.
