5-10 Index - Let's talk about the Driver: What Driver and Shaft are you playing in 2020?

Just put an Adams Fast 12LS back in my bag... I haven't hit it in a bit... Has a Matrix Black Tie X shaft in it... Usually play a Cobra Pro LTD with Aldla tour Blue...

I'd love to get some time in with a Mizuno 200GT once things calm down. I assume I'll be able to get one cheap.

HCP index 5.7

Ping LST with Ping TOUR65 shaft

playing at 10.5 std. setting with draw weight.

currently playing in different settings can’t find one that has been money for me yet. Was playing Cobra LTD and it’s been my gamer since it came out, my playing partners keep telling me to go back to it, but I want to make the Ping work. May try the the new Cobra extreme.

Currently playing Mizuno ST190 9.5 degree with Paderson BallisticKG70 D40.

This is the longest driver I have ever played as the launch and spin are good for my 95 mph swing speed. LOL during the fitting I got up to as high as 103 mph but that is not really sustainable and a year older may not be doable anymore. I did not hit this driver very well when I first got it and I am not all that confident with it. It cost me a lot of money so I am still playing it a year later. At least I would be playing it if golf were possible. My bad shots are mostly high on the heel slices ob and I don't know if a different club would help with that, possibly this club is actually optimal. Obviously the best thing for me to do is to improve my swing which I am working on. Eventually I will probably pick up a used driver or two and see if I can find something that I have more confidence in.

Mizuno ST190G with Atmos Tour Spec black 6S or Kuro Kage Silver Tini Dual Core 70S. Stil not made my mind up. Driver set to 8* weight moved forward. Still deliberating between the 2 shafts. The feel of the Tini is great but in the wind spin kills, the black feels more boardier. As I'm only allowed to look at them, I tweak my driver shaft several times per week awaiting the release of the lock down and step on the golf course again. Who knows what will be my gamer this year!

58 years old 91 mph driver ss 6 handicap

Ping G400 with the stock Alta, 45.75 length, reg. flex, 9*

I've tried 5 or so other current drivers (from TM, Callaway, and Titleist) and nothing was as consistent, forgiving, and long.

I've seen the G400 mentioned in this thread numerous times. They know!

I've gotten to the point the new stuff just doesn't interest me as it once did. Last year, I started messing with older driver heads I have lying around, sub-300cc Ti and even stainless drivers, and found them more interesting to play. And, of course, the persimmons.

Acquired the Orlimars in my sig specifically to give them some serious run in the bag this season. Mine are NOS on ebay, from a fellow WRXer active in the Classic folders. Was looking for a 4w, because I'm not 45 anymore and may need it sooner rather than later, and found this 1-3-4 set. Score!

I used to have a Homna Big LB that I had reshafted with an orange BiMatrix, that was a fun stick.

My current rotation of oldies is two 983k, 983e, 975d, Adams 4250 Tour DF (Just the head) Finding S300 or X100 for a driver is like finding hens teeth these days, but I hope to shaft the adams up soon........

I continue to play my 10.5* Cleveland Launcher HB with the stock Miyazaki C. Kua 50 S. It may not be s3xy, fancy, or the "latest thing," but you aren't going to find a much better performer. As long as anything else out there, can turn the ball both ways, and finds the fairway. What more do you need?

M5 9.0 turned down to 7.5 with the weights back & set to slight fade.

This is a head that launches high to loft in my opinion and really needs to be lofted down to get the most out of it. It came alive when I got it dialed in to the above setup.

I find this head delivers super consistent ballspeed and spin numbers across the face. Sound and feel I rate #1 all time on drivers I've owned.

I'm around a 5.

Taylormade R9 SuperTri TP 8.5* with Speeder 757 Stiff tipped 1/2"

Haven't found a new driver to replace it although have been fitted for:

Titleist TS4 with Evenflow T1100 6.5 65g

Ping 410 Plus with Tensei Orange Pro X-70

But the gains of those were not enough to warrant spending the money

Now I'm testing the EvenFlow in the R9 once the golf courses re-open up here

Cap is 7.9

Ping G400 LST 8.5 with Tour 65 Stiff.

Hit a demo day a few years ago testing everything in sight. Came out of there with this.

Started hitting it in places on my course I was unfamiliar with.

Going into my third season with this club.

Senior with 95 - 100 ss, got fitted last year and tried all the heads and had the best with this set up

Driver: GRAPHITE DESIGN AD-VR 5 S Callaway Epic Flash 10.5

ss increased a lot with the lighter shaft which totally shocked me. Usual carry is 220 - 250 down the middle. I'm very happy with the driver but may play around with the newer SIM & Callaway later. Hdcp has dropped a lot since I'm finding the fairways more, and of course because the cups are raised lol

Current "Bag of Tricks"

Driver:  Callaway Maverik 10.5 "Tour Issue" Single Diamond w/Graphite Designs AD-VR5 S

3W:  Taylormade M1 3HL w/Graphite Designs AD-DI 6 S

Utility:  Taylormade GAPR 3 Low w/Graphite Designs AD-DI 95 S tipped 1"

Irons:  Miura CB-301 4-PW, SHIMADA S-Shafts, ELITE grips

Wedges:  Titleist Vokey  SM6 F 52/12,      SM7 F 56/14,       SM6 M 60/08 Copper Lmt. Ed.

Putter:  Scotty Tei-22 Fastback 1.5   34"

Ball:  Titleist Pro V 1X
