RADAR Blades

I was browsing Ebay and came across a set of blades made by Radar. They look really nice and are a simple design with a great price at around $365 + shipping. Does anyone know anything about these?

I sent the Ebay guy a message asking where they are forged, and who forges them and his reply:

 

the ''radar'' brand is a sub brand from a larger golf company aimed at a more high quality product. i couldn't tell you said company as i am unsure. as with who forges them i couldn't say, but they are forged carbon steel. as for the price i could stick them up for 5-600 but am just passing on the savings that i got. there is a set on ebay up for 600. they guy brought them off me then just put them back on at double the price.

Let's investigate. What shape does the head closest resemble? My first thought is Apex MB but the heel looks a bit more square. Most of these irons are made in China so it definitely isn't unusual for them to either have some blanks laying around from previous builds or the factory workers makes a few sets "off the clock" and sell for a few bucks.

 

He stated that he has sold around 15 sets and only has 10 sets left and will not be getting more so it doesn't sound like something they plan on producing for the long run.

I checked his feedback and he has 8 positives on the set. These are seriously intriguing me and I don't know why LOL.

I saw them too when I was looking for other blades.... Googled also and couldn't find anything. Theres a radargolf.com website that talks about garage doors tho lol

Their marketing blurb was taken directly from the Wilson Staff Model Blades. I thought maybe the "triple knurled hosel" would direct me to the OEM but definitely a copy and paste job.

I bought a set of these about 3 months ago. They are awesome feel exactly the same as my old set of titleist 690mb irons. The lamkin x10 grips were really thin so have regripped them with golfpride CP2 grips. I got mine in the dynamic gold R300 shaft. They look almost identical to the new Titleist 620 mb irons but alot cheaper.

There's a few sets on ebay.uk in the 500 pound sterling range with KBS 90 shafts.  Even a copper plated set or two.  They claim forged 1020 steel.  I think they look gorgeous but the price is way too high fo me considering the total lack of details on the source/brand.  Maybe if I could but just the heads for half that...

I think they are an "open source" model that some Chinese forging company made for some company and slapped on any name.  In this case it is "Radar".  Just like Lynx Golf's blades are actually some no name Henry Hattons sold at Diamond Tour Golf.  To me, the Radar blades seem to look darn close to them.

The copper ones look great but no way I’d pay what they’re asking (over $700 shipped), unless there was some serious feedback on how they hold up.

Hi, can shed some light on this. A friend knows the owner of the business & they are Japanese Forged irons, from the same source as Muira blades. My friend has some wedges off the guy & they are pure.

So that means Miura is forging these off brand no name eBay irons sold for 1/3 of what their irons cost.

 

If that's the case I'm the King of Siam.

Hey he might be right, quite strange though that its not mentioned at all in any of the blurb, even though Miura is renowned for being one of the BEST forgings in the world! 🤣

If they came in lefty, I'd toss $350 to try them out. Looks like a solid open source MB that could have been forged pretty much anywhere.

I bought the matte black ones about a month ago, I played 5 rounds with them + 3 range sessions, and this is what I can tell you about them so far:

• definitely forged blades, absolutely amazing butter soft feel, and they have actually improved my ball striking (I play off 18);

• the matte black finish has immediately started to chip off from when they clatter against one another in the bag, but no damage on the faces from ball impact;

• a mate of mine had the polished steel ones, he also bought a set of the matte black ones, as the top line and the sole seem to be thinner on the matte black set. He had the steel ones in Dynamic Golf S300s, the black ones come with KBS 90 Tours, which seems to be the perfect balance for them;

• if you can get them around £400 like we did (3-PW), they’re totally worth the price;

Decided to look myself and they have alot of sets but for around 700 US some say radar some are blanks. Has alot more info in the description of the listing. I dont have skills for these butter knives but if they had cavity backs it would be interesting to try

I purchased a set of radar blades last year. They are forged and are a pleasure to hit. great balance and feel thru the set. I highly recommend. Price was very reasonable.

I have just bought a set of their foraged wedges I got a set of 50, 54 and 58 for £155 and they look amazing! I am going to try them out for the first time tonight so I will keep you all posted!

I got a set of copper finish wedges (£155) built to order with KBS tour shafts. 52,56,60. They are as good as any wedges I have had previously from Mizuno, Vokey, Callaway. The finish is holding up so far (about 10 rounds) with the usual playing damage expected on wedges. I had to stamp markings on the hosel as they were complete blanks. The feel is similar to my irons (Vega VM 02). In the UK they seem to be from Hippo golf. I received good communication and service in the process. In my opinion get them whilst you can.
