What is today’s Cleveland 588 RTG?

Is there anything in their line or anybody else’s products that accurately are similar to those great wedges?

My neighbor gets clubs from rich old guys as he is in a veterans group for Spec Ops. He asked me if I wanted anything from his garage. I scored 2016 Cally Apex irons (forged) and a few other things. I needed a 56 degree sand wedge so I got an old 588 in great shape. Had a women's graphite shaft and a slightly skinnier grip that I need to replace.

I started playing again after 4 or 5 years. I tried this sand wedge out and it is awesome. I hit a flop shot near the green with it and it was perfect. I never thought Cleveland was as good as people said but I am convinced now.

Rick Sheils on youtube likes the Taylormade irons. He said he never expected TM would make really good wedges.

Really just get a Raw RTX 4 .. two dot ?

The full grind in the RTX4 is as close as you will get. It has the same some grind, but in a smaller head.

I agree with this. I carry the low bounce 60 for a little extra versatility, but the “high” bounce version (which I also have) seems to be very similar to the old RTG.

I still play my 588 that I bought 20 years ago. Of course, I took a 19 year layoff, so it's still in pretty good shape. :-)

Miss the 588 DSG RTG, have a couple in the 'warehouse'

I have a few of them in the "warehouse". My favorite wedges next to my Eye 2+. Both have somewhat similar sole designs to a point with the v type.

currently have 50, 56, 60 in rtx 4. Big big Cleveland wedge fan.

I still play my 588 RTG's in 53* and 56*. In 20 years I don't think I've used a single other club from 100yds in besides my RTG 56 and putter. Thinking about going to RTX4's at some point, though.
