How do I exclude Classifieds from my Unread Content stream?  I've poked around but to no avail.  I thought I saw listing of forum folders at one point yesterday that I would have been able to include/exclude, but I sure can't find it now.

Currently you cannot exclude per forums.  You can create your own custom search but per forum is not there. Search is going to have to be totally redone so its on the list but not immediate.

FWIW, for me on both desktop and mobile, speed is noticeably quicker than it ever was with Vanilla, so you're already ahead of the game there. 

 

+1 to Mr. Pelz's request re likes.  Obviously a small thing in the grand scheme of things, but I had a few thousand of them that disappeared with the March 2019 switch, and I was surprised to see how such a small thing dampened my overall enthusiasm.  Same kind of general request for making join date visible in the profile pic area.  It's such a little thing, but as an old timer it gave me that little bit of dopamine every time.  Don't deny me my dopamine fix!

No idea if it'll help with the troubleshooting, but I was trying to post the above as a reply to easyyy's post here (with easyyy's post quoted) and I got the weird international security warning thing.  Tried it on desktop instead of mobile out of curiosity and got the same thing.  Then had a hunch and tried just posting it without using the reply/quote function and it sailed right through.  Seems odd, so perhaps it's a clue?  I'm not doing anything tricky with my IP address or DNS settings or using a VPN or anything like that, FWIW.  Only difference was using the reply/quote function.  If it helps, this is the event ID:

While somewhat painful you can go through all the forums and subforums that you care about, follow them, then build a custom stream to only show threads from followed areas, then save that custom stream.  I did it and it works.  It will show up under my activity streams.

Found another way too.

The sort boxes across the top, Content-topics-tool menu on topics line. Then select folders, and save as a custom stream.  Takes a few clicks to launch every time though.

I second this.  Please exclude classifieds/WTB posts from the Activity Streams. I know it was that way in prior board versions.  Hopefully you can replicate.

3.0 is much better. I absolutely hated 2.0 and I think that switch coincided with a decline in user activity. I didn’t like the reformatting of threads into posts vs comments, and I especially didn’t like how the search function was limited. That hurts BST which I’m sure the admins know drives a lot of activity here. Speaking of which, not sure where the BST feedback went, and the reputation score seems to have been reset though honestly the whole feature seems a bit unnecessary if you can see people’s post counts. Basic browsing and posting is great though.

 

I’ve only used 3.0 on my iPhone XS but it looks great. A dark mode would be amazing down the line but I realize that’s not a priority.

I do miss being able to click on “my bookmarks” and seeing all the threads I follow in one place quickly. There doesn’t seem to be anything that simple anymore.

Click on the Star/Button to the left of the thread title.  That should take you to first unread. ??

Seriously, kudos to you all for having the stones to give up on Vanilla.  The sunk costs fallacy is a tough one to get over.

 

I was a pretty loud critic at the time of the switch over to golfwrx 2.0, so let me now say that golfwrx 3.0 looks GREAT.  Well done....and thanks!

Creating a custom stream of followed forums is the way to exclude BST forums.

Looks infinitely better right out of the box than Vanilla did on its best day. Unlike the thankfully-departed version which always looked and felt "foreign" for want of a better term, this is like visiting an old friend.  I was quite critical of that debacle but this is a stunning transformation for the better. Kudos to those responsible, and hopefully the stress of the previous year and a bit hasn't prematurely aged you too much. Well done! ?
