Anyone try Titleist Tour Soft?

A relative gave me two sleeves.  I have not hit them yet.  Someone on youtube tested them against AVX.   He said they came out pretty well including distance.  The AVX had more spin on iron shots into the green, which could be expected.

1st gen was over priced and with limited greenside spin.

They are a little expensive for my everyday ball.

To me, it is a direct replacement for an NXT ball, but with Pro V1 performance around the green.

Some people hate the NXT. It just happened to fit me well.

If I was sponsored and received free golf balls, Tour soft, or Chrome Soft would be my choice.

I would find NTX and never really liked them.  Also have found Pro V1 and 1x and AVX.  I like the 1x the best.

I played a full round with the Tour Soft and it is a nice ball though not cheap.  It holds up well too.  The other is the Spalding Tour X which is a clone of the Pro V1x.  I like it.  It really stays online and in the fairway as does the Tour Soft.

The Spalding Tour X is really pretty good but not super soft off the irons like almost any Wilson ball.   I think Spalding and Pro V1x are about 85 compression while the Wilson balls are usually 50 compression or lower.

I've been playing Q star and Q star tour for several years but wanted to try something different. My wife gave me some of the Titleist Tour Soft and I really like them, except the price. They do seem longer, and while I have heard players say that about some balls, I've never experienced that myself until now. But QS is $24 here, QST $29, and the Tour Soft is $34. And I am not very good. I found a box of Cut Grey locally, and like them as much as the QS, QST, and the Tour Soft. Not sure what I'll end up playing. Might end up going with whatever is priced best.

I bought 2 sleeves Saturday and shot even par for only the 2nd time in my life.

I noticed the are half a club longer off my irons for sure. They seem to not be spin monsters off my driver and do well in the wind.

Played again yesterday and shot -1, my lowest score ever..needless to say these will be my new ball this year.

Sold - you had me at "i bought 2 sleeves...' haha.

I tried some about a year ago. One of my best ever feel shots was from a Tour Soft. a 7-iron into the green that burned a mark onto the ball. stopped perfectly. Of course, i probably lost the other 10 or 11.

I'm thinking to buy some AVX this weekend. Seems to be what i'm looking for, however, i'm also considering now if I want to pick up Tour Soft instead. The courses i play now have hard greens and a lot of wind, so your feedback sways me more towards the Tour.

AVX is good for wind, but not so much for hard greens..IMO.

Got a dzn of these in a tournament & used for the 1st time this week. Liked the ball but absolutely loved the T stamp, much to my surprise.  Thought it was clunky & ugly at 1st, completely sold by the end of the round. Best I've putted in a long time which I attribute to having complete confidence in the club head being square to the ball. Seems like a silly thing, but worked great for me! Highly reccomend this ball.

Some combo of any or all:

Rogue SZ 15* w/ Px Evenflow Blue 75 6.0
Cally 416 19* Hybrid w/ Diamana S+ 82g Stiff
4-PW: Callaway (OG) Apex w/ KBS PGI 80g / Bridgestone J40 Combo 4-P w/ Steelfiber i95 Stiff

60* Wilson Staff

I've been playing the Bridgestone e12 Contact and it is long and soft.  Not marshmallow soft, but similar to the Tour Soft.

One of my playing partners gave me a sleeve of the Tour Soft to compare to the e12 Contact.  I came away impressed.  I was hitting comparison shots during my round to see how it compared.  It was slightly longer on some shots and seemed to hold the greens pretty well.  Not sure there is much between the e12 Contact and Tour Soft, but I'm going to give it a go this week and see how it performs.

I also want to compare it to the Taylormade Tour Response.  The Tour Response is a urethane ball while the Tour Soft is a composite cover.  The urethane should perform better when hitting into the greens.

I've actually had really good response from the e12 Contact when hitting into the green.

The cover on the Titleist Tour Soft is an ionomer blend. The “4CE Grafted Cover” is simply marketing when in reality it is simply a different ionomer blend and a little thinner than Acushnet’s other 2-piece offerings. Ultimately this ball is the highest priced 2-piece ionomer covered ball on the market and IMHO doesn’t add enough value over similarly constructed balls to warrant the premium price.

I played the old version from 2018/2019 and was comparing vs the AVX at that time. I really like the Tour Soft, mostly for the sound and feeling.

As mentioned, the spin wasn't so high around the green, but should still be useable, not terrible.

If you want performance, I would not recommend them, however, good if you're going for feel. (prefer Bridgestone e6/12soft and Supersoft , would rate Tour Soft 3rd)

This.  If you are dead set on playing a ball with the Titleist name stamped on it but don't want their premium balls or the price that comes with them I would stick with the TruFeel.  It's going to do exactly what the Tour Soft does.  It's almost a bit shameful that Titleist puts out a ball like this for $35 knowing that many will pick it up simply because it has the word "Tour" in the model.

Have not played the Soft yet but today I gave the Speed an 18 hole test.

Man, these things are so close to the ProV1; a little less spin around the greens and probably off the long clubs as well; and a few yards - 5 - or so longer off the driver.

For the price I will use these again.

I like the Tour Soft but get better results with the Tour Speed.  Longer off the tee and more spin around the greens for only 40 cents more per ball.

Tried the first version but found it inferior in every way to the Taylormade tour response which was cheaper and urethane.

That’s why it’s “different strokes for different folks”.

Of course, I agree with you there. However I’ve always found titleists non premium balls to be worse than the competition and more expensive. Their premium balls are good, I play the pro v1 despite it being more than other balls as it fits me the best, but the tour soft/speed, velocity and trufeel all cost more than competitors and don’t perform as well for me or any of my friends.
