Even if you won't personally, I think it's hard to argue against JT moving the needle for Greyson far, far more than any other golfer they currently have...

I'm sure there is a deal in the works, but I bet he's testing the market now that he's devalued and seeing if they can afford him. Also you meant 'just asked them about their clothes and was shipped multiples of everything they make for free.'

Greyson is legit ... a few polos from them and I’m always grabbing first over my Nikes or FJs.

It’s more about exposure than anything else. The more high profile players wearing the clothes, the more people become aware of the brand.

my club just started starting greyson heavily, used to be mostly PM... I think the greyson is a as good as PM but fits slimmer.  I do think greyson is pretty expensive for what it is though, at least in their outewear dept.  The polos at my shop are same price as PM and are at least as good or better, but I go more and more for them based on fit,  The outerweare is hit or miss, some of their stuff is priced OK, but there was a plain fleece jacket for like $225?  I got a  greyson pullover from Pinehurst before I knew about the brand and the stitching on the hem is coming undone... I hope just bad luck, as I take care of my stuff.

Their pants are the best in the game. Their polos still need work. They're not really "slim" just sized smaller than other brands. They still don't have any taper, which if you have a drop from chest to waist leaves too much extra fabric. 

 

I doubt JT signs a deal with him anytime soon. #1 I doubt they can afford him and #2 I think JT likes the idea of wearing whatever he wants now. 

 

I'm curious if he's with FJ for shoes. If not I wouldn't be surprised to see him in some Jordans at like Quail Hollow or somewhere.

I loved the Blue Camo outfit from RLX that JT was sporting on the cover of the PGA Tour 2K21. Greyson does fit him well though, basically RL/RLX without the Polo Pony!

He is definitely FootJoy for shoes. Hope to goodness he does not end up wearing Jordan golf shoes. They are honking.

Is Jordan going to start making metal spike versions for him? Because I don't see that happening. He has a lot of foot work and doubt he wants to be in moon boots on the golf course in tournaments.

Well he is an Acushnet guy, so FJ would make sense. It would also make sense if Kjus signed him for clothing.

He's a top 5 player in the world who plays personally with MJ a lot, I'm sure MJ/Nike would make anything JT wanted to get that sponsor

Jordan’s are God awful. I don’t ever want to see JT wearing those monstrosities. He looks sharp in Greyson. Looked good in RLX too, though I am a little surprised he couldn’t/didn’t get a more tailored fit.

The principal brands operated by Acushnet are Titleist, best known for balls and clubs; Footjoy, an apparel brand with particular focus on shoes and gloves; Scotty Cameron, a leading putter brand; Vokey Design, a leading brand of wedge.

They greyson clothes are way nicer looking and far more options than polo. Agree some of the stuff is over priced for what it is but I think it does fill a bit of a gap and has a niche. I own a few of the polos and they are my favorites. Most annoying thing honestly is their website is always sold out of everything good in my size (s/medium)

Ralph Lauren ditching JT over the "controversy" makes perfect sense. They brand themselves as very progressive and it would be a PR nightmare had they not dropped him. They are a business and they can and should do whatever they need to do to keep selling clothing, that's just business. All the people getting upset over JT, a multi-millionaire, losing one sponsorship deal have no sense of perspective, and also conveniently ignore that RL even left the door open to re-signing JT in the future, once he's no longer a PR liability to them. 

 

Similarly, I give props to Greyson for its shrewd business dealing, being a smaller brand and using the opportunity to scoop up one of golf's biggest names after the flames of controversy had died down, giving them a huge publicity boost.

 

As for style, JT definitely looks better in Greyson, but that's pretty much because their style is more European—more tailored fits, more muted colours, more discreet branding, etc. Ralph Lauren (and specifically Polo) is still doing what most big-name "luxury" brands have done since the 1980s, which is catering for conspicuous consumption (and why wouldn't they, the two largest markets for luxury goods are America and China and both of them want exactly that). This means bigger and bigger logos, bolder and more obnoxious designs, heavy reliance on brand recognition. Compared to Polo RL, Greyson has almost no brand recognition. They couldn't make such conspicuous designs and get away with it, even if they wanted to. It would hurt sales.
