Tour Velvet Cord-Who uses them?

Replacing my grips for the new season and looking at these Probably my favourite Golf Pride grip but only thing holding me back is price So wondering Are they worth it compared to a regular Tour Velvet which is probably my second option on my list. Also How often do you replace them. I usually Hope to get a Season out of grips and replace at Winter. They seem to be a popular grip on Tour aswell

I like these, but prefer the Lampkin full cord if going that route.

I use the 360 Velvet now though. Just use a rain glove if required.

no kidding (10.50 a pop).

golf works has some royal full cord that’s similar (12 grips for 45$ Or something like that).  I picked up some and put them on a set I just mess around with. They are nice but not the same.

Think I’ll be sticking with the velvet cords for my playing set. (Been playing the velvet cords for 20 years so Take that into consideration)

I played the TV Cords for a little while this season, switched to MCC, but will likely end up back with the Z Cords. I prefer the rougher texture of those.

I just ordered some Lamkin Players cords off ebay for $5.99.  They are better than GP Cords IMHO.  Only issue is they are the Standard + which means they are a little thicker under the lower hand grip like the MCC Plus 4's which I am taking off.  I play and hit balls a ton and I usually make it through one season with full cords.

The Players Cord is hard to find now but the Lamkin Crossline Cord is better than the GP Cord as well.

Years ago I loved the GP Tour Velvet Cord but they have gotten harder with less cord it seems each year.  Kinda like the Big Mac, patties get smaller every year.

I also prefer the Lamkin cords. The cord seems more prominent to me which I prefer.

No cords seem to be true cords now, compared to how rough they were 10/15 years ago.

Take a look at the Royal Cord grip. Only $5.00 and they're excellent. They last much longer, and stay tackier than the Tour Velvet as these are made from actual rubber (not a synthetic).  I prefer them since they have the minimum taper design.  Only available from Golfworks since they purchased Royal from Lamkin a few years ago.

I play them and played them for a long time now. I don’t like change honestly so I’ve games the red ones for a bit but always switch them out at the beginning of the season

Hoping to switch them out every season aswell Do they last the full year? The red ones are cool but hard to find

Mine last all season. The wedge will start to get slick because I hit the most balls with the 60. The red ones were cool but I stopped trying to find them anymore.

Whats the difference between the tour velvet cord and the z cord?

I find tour velvet cord to be softer or less firm than z grip

The Z Cord is a horrible harsh grip

Disagree.  I think it's one of Golf Pride's better grips.  I used the tour velvet's and cords growing up.  Love them both, but the z cord is it for me.  They have the best actual grip out of all the GP grips IMO.

I have used the tour velvet BCT cords for a few years now, like them a lot. Have to change out the wedge grips every year because they get the most use and can become a little slick feeling. Iron grips usually a season and a half or so. Only problem is Golf Pride seems to be making them with less cord material than they used to, and the rubber feels a bit harder than it used to.
