91 at pheasant hills in WI. Used one ball the entire round and no mullies. I had some problems on the back 9 focusing/thinking, (all of my rounds this year have been 9 holes) but powered through.

Level par on a short, but tight and gorse infested 5700 yard / Par 68 course. 3 x Birdies (One must have been very close to a Hole in One as it finished 8” or so directly behind the cup). And very unlike me; 3 bogies on the trot; mid-round 🤷‍♂️

UkPh3uu.jpg

***I’m only 5 recorded rounds into the new World Handicap System - and fully expected my handicap to increase being off +1.1 at the start of the round - and this being a low rated / low slope track. Not moved since recording my score ? Weird……

And yea-yea it’s a low Par: but played with my Son who broke 80 ‘anywhere’ for the first time with 78 (* Proud Dad emoji*) 😎

Got my mojo back after a few lessons!  Don't judge too hard, there have been several in this thread that have said things like my score would cause them to quit golf.  I shot 50 again this past Thursday at a casual round.  Substantially better than my last recorded scores of 69 (not nice) and 70 on 9.

Take no notice of the nay-sayers buddy. Its frustrating for most of us -  at all levels. No one can deny it’s a multi faceted and very hard game. But that’s what keeps bringing us all back…..

As long  as you love it, and as long as you feel you’re learning and improving - no one else’s opinion matters.

Now to break 100 on a full 18 then 👌 GOOD LUCK

I shot a 75 today and my buddy shot a 77. This is only the third time I have ever beat him in  7 or 8 years of playing together and all three times have been this year. I had 3 bogeys and 1 birdie on the front.  1 double and 2 bogeys with 3 birdies on the back. Kept the ball in the fairway and putted better than I have in a while.

Broke my 18 hole record today with a 67. First time under par for 18.

It's not as impressive as it sounds as it was a par 68 course rated like 68.2 but it still sounds cool to say I shot 67.. Even if it was only -1..

Stuffed a second shot on a par 5 to 2.5 feet for the eagle, probably the best shot of the round

Played on Friday for the first time in about a month in a half. Things went well on the 1st hole.  Had a 10ft birdie putt that I missed slight right, but par is good for me. Bogeyed 2 and then went to crap. 2 of my previous 3 rounds were under 100, not today though.  Ended with a 107 after 3 putting on 18.

Played just 9 today at the course near my house. This scorecard now takes the cake as "weirdest 9 holes I've ever played"

77.
4 birdies, a double, and one 3 putt.

stiffed a couple wedges.

Played with a couple guys who made their own rules for their friendly money game, so I just rolled my eyes and kept my distance.

Nice guys, but more into beer and BS than actually playing golf.

In other words, my typical random muni pairing…..🙄🙁

You ever  have a decent round but you make a great shot or have a great hole and the score really becomes secondary? I shot a 78 today but did something I have never done before. I call it a sandy eagle. I hit a pretty good drive on the  par 5 3rd hole  but it ended up in a fairway bunker. I had 182 to the pin and hit a 5 iron that faded long over the flag and came to rest right next to the fringe for a 14' putt with 3' of break. Curled it in for the eagle.  Ended up making a birdie on the back nine also but had a bunch of bogeys and a double bogey.

107 today. Got excited after par on the first haha. Feel like I'm making progress to that magical 100 marker though. Less 'blow up' holes/triples+ appearing on the scorecard with every round I play which is nice to see.

Ha, I should keep score more often. I didn't keep score, but Brian in my group did. I shot 2 under with 3 birdies and 1 bogey for 9 this morning at McKay Creek. It was a great round. Most of my drives were in the right fairway 🤣

+2 (74) from the tips @ 7200 yards at a course I completely forgot how hard it was.

Made 3 birdies in a row on 8,9 and 10 and lipped an eagle putt in the process on 13. Just couldn’t catch a break when I got out of position, one stroke penalty junk lies all day 2 feet off the fairway. Drained a 45 footer on 18 to save par to get a little bit of momentum.

I can only remember having done it a single time at any other point in my life, but yesterday I 4-putt not one but 2 greens in 9 holes.

One started as a 15 foot eagle putt no less.

Horrific

Not today but the last round I played was an even par 70 at Carlskrona GC in southern Sweden. Sour bogey-bogey finish but nice to go that low for not having played for 5 weeks 🙂

47 on a 9 hole par 34.  Its a small and very narrow course and I lost 5, count them 5 shots chunking my wedge.  Hit 3 trees too and that didn't help.  I did try out something new putting and at least for today, it worked.  Only 17 putts.

Finally broke 90 (recent probably 8 rounds have been 90-95) with an 85!  At my level, that feels outrageous.

On the 18th, I had a 308 yard par 4.  Blind green because of a slight left dogleg.  Saw a cart drive off to the left of the trees, so I thought it was the group ahead of me clearing off the green.  Hit my driver on a bit of a towering draw which looked money.  Saw it bounce and figured it would be just short of the green but in the middle.  Got up to the green and there were still two people on it and I could tell the dude was annoyed.  Looked right near his feet and my ball was right there on the green prob 25’ from the cup.  I was immediately apologetic, I for sure would not have hit into them if I knew they were there or even thought it was likely I would drive the green.  Lagged it close and got a birdie.  Which was good because I tripled 17.

First tee was a little dark. Google Night Site makes it look totally playable. I didn't lose my drive, so that's a bonus.

Fortunate to get out on Cherry Hills Country Club today.  Shot 2 over 74 from the tips with 3 birdies. Purist greens I’ve ever been on and the most difficult par threes I’ve ever played.  Definitely the nicest course I’ve ever had a change to take a divot on.  Seeing all the plaques for Arnold Palmer and the records / shots from Jack memorialized was an awesome experience.
