Here's a crazy idea... if you really want to snack on sunflower seeds, peanuts or or the like on the course... why not buy the shelled ones?

A mouthful of seeds in the shell will yield maybe 12 tiny seeds. A mouthful of just seeds is like maybe a 80 tiny seeds? You'd be over the rec of seeds in one mouthful. Plus, it's fun to work at getting that little nugget, lasts longer in the mouth, and many diff flavors round out the experience..

I must admit i dont think ive ever sat through a whole game of AMERICAN football, i didnt mind watching highlights when i was a kid, i supported a team because it had a player who they called the fridge, Chicago bears? and baseball, well i hope its better for the fans in the stadiums than it is for fans watching on tv, i think the one game i watched i lasted about an hour

Yeah baseball is boring when you don’t completely understand the  game and all the nuisances. Or maybe you do and still think it’s boring! Kind of like ️ to me. 90 minutes and the game ends 0-0! Ugh. I’d rather watch my lawn grow 😂

Goes to show ya, to each his own.

As I recall baseball has four (4) nuisances... 1 behind the plate and 1 at each base. 😝

True.  I don't mind a little hip hop though just to get my juices flowing.  I do mind if I can hear your music from 2 fairways over though.

You may like it but there is not reason your desires should impact anyone else.  USE the earbuds... you get what you need and I don't have to be distracted by what I don't want to hear.

Um, ok.  I don't listen to music on the course.  If I hear hip hop, in the backround and it's not blaring, I don't mind it.

I'm old and have been eating sunflower seeds since I was around 10 years old and at one time I was the fastest in my neighborhood. We were very a competitive bunch. There is some skill required if you want to get serious about the art. Load up one side of your cheek like a chipmunk, use your tongue to move a seed over, crack it open, eat and then remove the shell. As @smashdn said you occasionally get surprised by something nasty that had taken residence in the seed and got roasted inside it, but OTOH you occasionally get a tasty stem that makes up for it.

I now grow my own sunflowers by my garden and salt and roast the seeds. Maybe its USA only thing, but everyone I grew up with ate them. But, I agree they are nasty on a golf course. Not as bad as a wet smelly cigar butt though. Neither should be discarded on the course but there are a lot of slobs in the world.

My son played baseball and golf.  Sunflower seeds were a staple in baseball and they spit the hulls everywhere.  First time he played golf with me with sunflower seeds in his mouth, told him find something to spit them in...this is not a damn baseball field.  Now I wish he had sunflower seeds in his mouth instead of smokeless tobacco.  Nasty a** habit I wish to hell he would break. And, yes, he spits in a cup when playing golf.
