PXG Gen 4 0811x Driver

Great thread. Any of you gen 4 driver users have the pull hooks with this club? I have the 0811x and I can’t take my cobra out of the bag. Can’t hit a cut or straight ball with the pxg.

I bought a 17.5, 12.5, and a 5 gram weight to go with the 15, 2.5(2) weights for my 45” Pxg Gen4 0811x driver. It loves the big one in front, 5 in back and 2.5 in the heel. It is very forgiving in finding fairways with decent length on mishits. I too do not want hooks, and I think the right shaft helps with that in this club. If you get fit try several.

For those experimenting with weights. Have you bought aftermarket weights or the genuine deal?

I was hitting a lot of pull hooks early

on switching to this driver and the HZRDUS Yellow 60. But since I got my timing down with the lighter counter balanced shaft than what I was used to I hit it much straighter now. When I hit one really well I still think I might be a little shorter than where I was with my Sim Max but it’s negligible.

I’m seriously considering ordering one without hitting it. Did a full bag fitting at CC recently and spun everything in the upper 2ks. Best fit was a TE C721 but wasn’t all that impressed with it to pull the trigger. From reading some data and watching some reviews it seems like this is a low spin monster like the Sim 2.

 

I do enjoy the Hzrdus stuff. Game the older smoke black in an old 910 driver and fit well into the Rdx Smoke Blue for woods/hybrids. Thinking of doing the 60g Yellow X. Any other shafts I should think about to knock as much launch/spin off of it?

I’m loving it. Best shaft/head combo I’ve ever had. It’s the 6X tipped 1 inch.
 

I like the black so much I think I’m going to put the 7X in my 3 wood. Currently have a Red 7X in there and wish I hit it a bit lower.

I’m playing the Gen 4 X with 15g front, 2 rear and 2 heel.  I also have the 10.5 playing -1 click (-0.75?) and went to the Ventus Blue for the stiffer tip.  Love that combination.  

 

I agree, the Gen 4’s can be big pull hooks.  The combo above is as straight as an arrow for me.

I’m not much help here but saw one video on YouTube with a British guy and gal and they really liked it!!

I watched Alex Etches review, he liked it. Just curious if anyone compared the X and the XT

I actually really like my Gen4 0811x. For $299 I had to add it to my Iron order. Out of the free shafts I went with the Diamana 60X at 46". Against my Sim 2 with Ventus Blue Velo at 45.75, the Taylormade edges it out by 5-8 yards every shot.  It won't replace my Sim 2 as my Primary driver, but it is worth it to keep and tinker with. 

 

Especially since my Sim2 was over twice as much money.

I have 0811 X and my son the XT, both 9' with the Diamana 60X. I think the X is a bit more forgiving after hitting his.

Have a side by side pic by chance? How's the workability between the two?
