Ya it’s crazy that everyone that was posting here in the first wave or two isn’t still here talking about their problems. Maybe they stumbled on the manuals too…🙄

🤣🤣🤣 Totally. I’m the 3rd wave. Just wait until we get on the 5/6th wave. I’ll be sad since we won’t be chatting on this thread anymore 😭

After two sessions, I can't say enough about how much I love this device, but how much I hate the software and the overall experience.

My scenario is dead simple: I want to take the device to the range and see accurate numbers. I can see the key numbers on the screen, which is great. However, I want to see more and review data. No simulation, no online play, no cloud storage, just review numbers from the session on my phone.

Why you can't register the device at home and then simply open an app on your phone without passwords, two different apps, an always-on internet connection, connection switching, delays, a laptop, an IPad, cables, etc. is mindblowing for something that costs $3k. If by luck you get the software to work, the UI looks like a summer intern's unsupervised project and it routinely crashes. It's even more insulting when a product 90% cheaper like Rapsodo or Mevo does the software reasonably well.

The product is a game changer but right now it's really frustrating at least for how I want to use it.

Hopefully when FSX Play is announced in a few months (hopefully) the software will be dramatically better and they can trickle is down into a better mobile app.

I can't find the link but it was a link to discord.  I'll do some digging to see if I come across it.

Your scenario isn’t that “dead simple” unless you are a member of a club with prov1 range balls. Have you actually tried this on a driving range yet? All range balls suck, there is 1 club in my town with prov1 range balls. I’ve taken this to the range a couple times (different ranges) and the numbers are much different than in my simulator and on the course with real golf balls. I could never get over 1.4 smash with driver and I’m consistently right at 1.5 on sim/course. My ball speeds are also 10-20 mph slower with range balls and spin is way way low. Same thing goes for the guys shooting flags with range finders at the range to dial in distance… that just doesn’t translate to real golf with real golf balls.

Your connection issues are easily fixed (see above). But your dead simple scenario has inherent flaws due to range ball quality.

Anyone else have issues logging into FSX Pro with the BLP? It keeps acting like my password is incorrect even though I know it is accurate.

I had this problem.

if you have downloaded FSX Pro on your phone and your iPad, delete one of them.

The error message happens when you have 2 FSX Pro apps on mobile devices.

I'm strongly considering the BLP, and Mevo+.

I have the 16ft required for Mevo+ to work in my garage, and I'd be able to take it to the range.  The software and features you get out of the box also seem superior.  With the fusion tracking, and updated pro package that gets you club data, it's a much more attractive option than it used to be.

I feel like the BLP will be more accurate, particularly when I use it indoors.  I just can't get over paying $100/year for a bare bones feature set, or the fact you need to lay out $800/year for club data.

I've read through this thread a bit, where some folks have converted from Mevo+ to BLP, and seem happy.  Was the accuracy of the Mevo+ just too inconsistent?

We came from the M+ and have the BLP. Here is my honest experience for you:

MEVO+
PROS:

-Cheaper subscription & device

-Excellent customer service

-Helpful for shot direction. Ball data good outdoors on range.

CONS:

-Battery life bad (check the M+ forum)

-Numbers good on the range Vs Trackman but questionable into a net

-Unreliable pick up all shots (50-65% picked up) indoor. I’ve read it 50/50 on forums with users having issues.

-Need a sticker on the ball that gets worn quick

-Sensitive setup with angle and spacing

charging very particular on voltage (have to use specific cable and external battery)

BLP

PROS:

-Rarely misses shots indoor or outdoor

-Easy setup especially range or on course. Just drop it down and see the numbers on the unit’s screen (no iPad setup needed)

-Accurate reliable numbers vs TM (personal comparison, YouTube reviews, Forums)

-Battery life superb rated 5-7 hours. I think for us it’s more 3-4 hours.

CONS:

-Initial challenge to set up but now easy

-Pricey subscription. Basic $99/mo data really bare bones with no SIM range, AOA, Backspin and Club Path

-Pricey software that comes with 10 “no name courses”

-Bigger unit and heavier Vs the M+

Very happy with the BLP and glad we upgraded. I think maybe they had pressure from Vista pushing the BLP out to the regular consumers. I look at it like the you’re nearly getting an $18k GCQuad for $3k + $800/yr

Foresight was initially for businesses (companies, pros, fitters, etc.) There are growing pains but once you’re up and running, it’s nice knowing the data you see is legit.

Not sure how the fusion software will be with the M+ but sounds promising. My biggest issues were picking up shots, accuracy of data and battery life.

TBH I feel the M+ is an upgraded Skytrak. The BLP/GC3 is a slightly downgraded, affords GCQuad

Hope that helps. Happy New Year 🎊

@Frank_Dux no name courses?? One is a private course near where I'm from...LOL 😆

Oh shoot. I’m sorry! Haha. I thought they were bootleg courses. Like Torrey Pines but an alternate. Truly my bad.

What I meant to say is that they don’t include Pebble, Bandon etc haha

That might not quite be what he’s asking for. You’re correct that the whole range ball thing doesn’t get discussed enough in relation to LMs, but what I’ve found really helpful for improving is specific club data, particularly angle of attack, path, and face to path. Not asking much to have those sort of numbers easily and clearly to hand in a 3 grand machine.

At the moment, only the Full Swing Kit seems to have thought this through.

I'm not sure any would recognize the course, not one of the noticeable ones in the area.  I wish they included one bigger named course, but they probably need to pay the royalty fee to use a PGA tourney stop or well known resort

I agree. I’m sure they pay they royalty, they just want to give it to us for free (or include it) 😆

Took it out on the course today.

Fabulous addition to a

practice round.

Has not missed a shot, and club head data is top notch.

how accurate was it for wedge shot distances?

We took it out in the course. Dropped 5 balls from the same spot. Lasted the flag. Carries were all spot on not exaggerating and picked up every shot. Was really impressed

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I see a BLP in my future.

I spent a few hours in the garage setting up my net and mat, then using the BLP. It was really fun. I don’t have a ton of room, and my net has been known to allow some driver shots through, so I used 3w and below.

My only issue was that my mat would move on full swings and the unit would look for the ball again in my down swing and miss the shot. I ended up rearranging it so I’m not standing on the mat when I swing and that seems to work decently.

I played Teton Pines and then used Dr Sholls on the three wood while using the range to work on contact on higher swing speeds.

The course worked well and I will download the others tomorrow, and the range was pretty fun as well. The BLP was a good purchase.

Same

Worked great on pitches too, which means short game practice in the simulator is not simulated, it’s real.

Carpet tape or gorilla tape something that can stick to a garage floor and the mat works well to prevent the mat from moving

I saw someone mention Vice balls and wanting to know how they are holding up. I'm hitting vice Tour and Vice Pro Plus and they're working great. Side note Vice Pro Plus in the gold color - BLP doesn't register the spin and the ball also just keeps climbing - result is 480+ yard drives that are dead straight. lol
