Prospects/Prodigies lurking?

Just hoping that wherever this prodigy might be that his dad is teaching him in a more sympathetic way than Earl did with TW.

I disagree.  If a 21 year old Tiger showed up today he would decimate this crop of players.  Equipment can only equalize things so much, then it's the person using them.

Would Tiger have been Tiger without that though?  I don't know.  He might have ended up as Sergio.

Sergio off the course probably a better scenario than Tiger off the course… On the course, obviously no comparison. And I know we are talking about the latter.

100%  heard that from  a teaching pro there

 

Also Thai  guy 14 year old  making the cut in pro tournaments and would be at least plus 5 handicap going just by his tournament scores

I don't think we'll ever see another Tiger or Jack again. The world has moved on so much in the last 20 years, not necessarily for the best either.

 

Even if someone has that talent to dominate, they'll make so much money so quickly with image rights, social media, endorsements etc. golf will become secondary in their career within 10 years. Sad really.

And that's why if it's going to happen again he needs to have an Earl Woods like father figure.

I was talking a PGA teaching pro recently. 
 

He said back in 2000s, most of junior golfer’s dad acted like Earl because they think that’s how to raise successful juniors. 
 

Fast forward to nowadays, junior golfer’s Dads come in a bit more varieties because there are more than one ways to raise junior golfers.

How people perceived Earl raised Tiger and how Earl actually raised Tiger were not the exact same thing. He committed the perfect balance of hardness, discipline, and love. Having a piece of clay like Tiger that became addicted golf helps.

Karl Vilips used to be touted as a prospect. In the Uk kid called Connor Gough who I think played Walker Cup but seems to have gone off the boil slightly
