What is your 7 wood set-up using 2020 to 2021 model year?

Titleist TSi2

Ventus Blue 7x

108-110 Driver SS

41.50 inches

Carry 230 ave.

So far so good. Does everything I want it to. Launches high without ballooning. Easy off the deck. Doesn't present the hard-left problem of a hybrid.

I much prefer the sound of the TSi2 to the Ping G425 Max, which I also played with the same shaft. I have previously played 7w in Titleist 917 and TS2. You can never go wrong with a Titleist fairway wood.

Head: Rogue 7W, loft 21*, actually from a women's model. Whether men's or women's, the Rogue woods all have the same loft, lie angle and head size. It may have been draw-weighted, as I had to put tungsten tape in the right toe sole slot to slow face closure.

Shaft: Reshafted with EvenFlow 5.5 regular flex, 65 grams.

Driver swing speed: 85 or 90 MPH, depending on whether my right hip is hurting/stiff. / Carry: 190-200 yards

What is working? @columbuslinks, please clarity. Not sure what you mean

Glad you started this topic! Shaft searching right now for my 7....

Head model - TS2

Shaft - evenflow white 6.5 75g (out of a 5w, don’t love it). Experimented with a ad xc but it was too short & light. This is my place holder for now..

Driver swing speed - not sure, smooth transition ~170 ball speed.

Carry distance - 230-240. Minimal roll

Length - .5” over standard

What is working for you? Great club on par 5 & shorter par 4s. My gripe is it’s awful in the wind, I think I’m getting too much spin and it will balloon from time to time. Obviously user error, but a heavier shaft might help. Hoping to draw inspiration from the other 7w users here.

wondering if Ventus line will be popular in this thread. Might try and AD DI- but I believe that would just add to balloons... I know it was a bad fit in my driver

Mine is as follows but I have only owned it 3-4 weeks so the jury is still out and I may end up going back to a Hybrid,

Ping G425 Max 20.5

MC Tensei AV Orange  75 Stiff

100-105 MPH

200-210 Carry ( when I hit it )

42"

I really need to figure out ball position and angle of attack because I only hit it trying to reach par 5's and results are all over the place.

I have actually had several 7 woods and for some reason go away from them and then come back, such a sensible club.

Just got this from a wrx'er and put it in play today

EPIC flash 21*

GD AD DI 8x

hit it quite few times and the longest was in the 200 range so I would average it for 190 carry and that is just what I need.

Driver SS is high 90's on the good days, been a while since I have been on a LM so just a guess. But a long drive for me is 250 with the wind.

I'm new to the 7wood gang, but since going to 4wood instead of 3W, I wanted to try the 7W.  I'm finding it fun to hit shots that look about 50% higher than my U500 3 iron, yet go the same distance.  Impressed so far out of the rough, and how mishits thin, a little heely, etc don't seem to lose distance.  Hitting bullet 7 woods off the deck on the tee is rewarding.

In April 2020 I added a Tour Edge XCG7 21 degree 7 wood to the bag.  It is standard length at 41.5” and has the Fujikura Fuel Stiff 60 shaft in it.  Shaft weight is 65 grams.  It cost $59.99 and despite being more than a few years old it was new old stock.  A new head cover for it cost $5.

According to my Arccos stats it is my 205-210 yard club.

My driver swing speed is between 95-100 mph and my handicap is currently 5 but this year it has ranged between 3 and 7 with 140 rounds entered so far this year.

The 7 wood has really changed my game.  I tend to hit long irons low with a draw and tend to deloft my clubs with a forward press.  The extra loft on the 7 wood makes it is so much easier to hit off the fairway than anything I’ve used in the past.

A large number of the guys in our Men’s golf association have put a 7 wood into play over the last few years.  For many of us it has become a trusted friend

I do also carry a 4 or 5 wood and occasionally will put a 4 utility iron in the bag for links style courses.

Good luck in your search.

Titleist TSi 2 7W

Tour AD Di 7X, tipped 1"

41 1/4" in length

DSS: About 106-108 mph

195-205 m carry equats to: 213-224 yards

Sure fit set to: C2 -0,75 degrees less in loft

I use it mostly of the deck, second shot on Par 5:s and an odd

long Par 3 that demands a carry of +205 yards. So easy to get

up in the air with a relyable trajectory. 🙂

Ps. Great out of the rough as well, when you need to move it along.

Titleist TS2 (my 3 & 5 woods are Tsi2) - Diamana Blue S+ 72

I would've "upgraded" this TS2 to the TSi2 model....but this has become such a go-to club for me...I simply can't eject it from the bag. For me, it's 210-220 and where that distance used to give me the feeling of "let me see if I can get this on whatever side of the green"....with the addition of the 7w to my bag, it has become "let me knock this close". I really could kick myself for staying with left-prone hybrids and 4-irons for the last 20 years and NOT giving the 7w a chance. My "perfectly struck 4i" went from a 1-in-4 chance to me now being able to strike a perfect 7w nearly every time I pick it up. It's SUCH AN EASY club to get going high and landing softly.
