My Mezz is on its way back to L.A.B. To see if they can address the BGT shaft issue. They’ve been very helpful so far and I appreciate the easy communication and willingness to make things right.

Still waiting on mine.  I am #188 and a left handed model.  Hope it ships soon.  I have the BGT shaft - hopefully no issues with peeling.

I went stock KBS shaft, but I am debating whether or not to see if I can send in my 2.1 and Mezz and have them swap the LAGP off my 2.1 and put it on my Mezz....

Had a longer practice session with the Mezz, in addition to rolling a ton of putts on my Perfect Practice and I am into this new putter. I still feel the same with regards to the technology - this thing just starts on the exact intended line. My 2.1 seemed heavier when I pulled the Mezz out of the box, but I think the balance is actually pretty close. There may be a slight different bc the 2.1 has the OG grip which is super heavy so more specific weighting was used on the 2.1 head to balance. Went with the Press 1.5 on the Mezz which is a lighter grip and so not as much intense weighting needed to balance.

 

Lag puts were something that I wasn't bad at with the 2.1 but definitely was not as consistent with as I'd like. Rolled a bunch on a pretty undulated practice green at Angeles National near LA and had tap-ins. I don't know if it is the heavier weight to that putter (or feel like it's a heavier weight) but I always seemed to lack the consistency with the 1:1 stroke for distance. The Mezz definitely has better feel, again maybe placebo bc of the size, but it feels like my old Scotty Golo in terms of head control.

 

The one thing I'm still torn on is the shaft. I went stock KBS, and can't help but think what I might be able to feel like if I swapped the LAGP from my 2.1 onto the Mezz. I really like that shaft on the 2.1 and feel like it could be seriously good on the Mezz. Might explore sending them in down the line. It also could be the tinkerer in me too....

 

All in all, I'm playing in a 2-day tournament this coming weekend at a course I've never played. The greens are tough, and right now with the Mezz, I'm feeling like I can really go after it. LAB has themselves a winner. The size of the 2.1 wasn't really an issue for me, if anything when people noticed it on the 1st green it allowed me to pitch them on the technology. Ego, vanity, or just doesn't fit the eye.. whatever the reason, the 2.1 size is an issue that people can't get over. But now they cannot have any gripes with the Mezz. This thing is compact, the feel is amazing, and the tech is the best in the game hands down.

Mine shipped today.  Got the ACCRA shaft on it, and very much looking forward to trying. Coming from a Spider center shaft, so anxious to see what this is all about.

Let me know how you like the ACCRA shaft.  I have the same shaft coming in mine.  I'm hoping it has the same feel as say a TM Spider or Callaway 2-ball designed putter.

I’d be interested as well.  only tried the Stability Shaft and Stability Tour shaft.

When I asked LAB what options they had to feel the putter head more, they suggested Accra. All the reviews I have read have been fire. Will keep forum posted when it arrives!

I have not.  That's what I'm excited about.  Curious to see how it performs as my putting has been the worst part of my game lately.  I'm hoping it helps 👏

So just got the new Mezze with an accra black shaft and a black dot sightline. Took it with me to Portugal as the weather is ok here so been playing a couple of rounds.

First impressions are mixed. Without a line on the ball I am actually finding the putter quite difficult to aim. Once I put the line on the ball my accuracy was much better. 

 

The roll on the ball is the best I have ever had. However, playing on quick greens this is really tough as even the smallest stroke seems to send the ball a mile. 

 

As an owner of the DF1 I have always felt that you feel your misses more with the LAB as it highlights bad technique more than anything. I think a tutorial video for this new prototype will really help get things dialled in.

 

Was fitted for a 69 degree lie angle but am just wondering on the implications if the lie angle was slightly wrong. 

 

Great putter but still to make up my mind of its effectiveness out on a course.

I agree the headcover is insane, totally not the right fit.  Does anybody know of any other headcover that fit this putter?

$600 for a prototype sight unseen and it has the wrong head over?  I’m not sure I understand why L.A.B. would do business that way; headcovers are the easy part.

Everybody’s supply chain is a mess so for whatever reason they were not able to get the head cover in time.   My biggest complaint is not so much the fact that the proper head cover is not available, it is the fact that when it is available we have to pay for it.  At this point we should get the head cover for free.

UUUUGGGGHHHH. I wish that were true. Headcovers are the BAIN of my existence. I won't go into it too deep, but designing a new product (Most companies can fit into a stock die) in the middle of this supply chain craziness was a mess. Short of delaying the release 3 months, this was the best we could do.  We do now have proper ones in. You can exchange the one you have or keep it (fits great on a DF) and buy the new one for $16. Everyone who's bought a MEZZ.1 will be receiving an email to this effect by the end of the week. The whole ordeal was obviously not what we wanted factoring in the realities of delaying the release, we made a judgment call and really hope our customers will understand and forgive us.

I got mine today and the headcover must be the new style, i dont see anyway it could fit the DF. So im guessing here forward all orders will have the correct headcover.

What was your serial number?  Does anyone know if you could pick a higher number that hasn't been issued yet or if it truly is just when you place your order?

You know, i didnt see a serial number… ill have to look again when i get home.

 

Edit: I see earlier in the thread that the number is clear as day. Mine definitely doesn’t have that, so perhaps i have a retail version. No biggie, I was chosen to test and review it for golfwrx.
