He's not going to come back until he can compete. If anything, we all should have learned that. And his posted video makes it obvious that he's going to give coming back a real try.

 

I have a friend that had a displaced and compound fracture of his lower leg, and he was older than Tiger and in worse shape. He was playing better than before his accident after a year. It's possible.

 

But walking 72 will be the trick.

I’m assuming Tiger is following doctor’s orders now, but Tiger has always pushed aside medical advice. We’ve heard unbelievably little from Tiger and his camp the last 9 months, so letting the public know that you’re improving and making strides keeps crazy speculation down.

Just happy for him that be just hit some balls. I am a fan and whatever happens in the future with his golf is anyone's guess. The fact he is vertical and swinging is already a major win in my book

In the past he was a little loose in following doctor's orders.  I think since the last couple of back surgeries, he has followed their instructions very well.  He knows that screwing up now would be career and likely life altering.

The mere fact that this came from Tiger's Instagram account means that you can be sure that Tiger likes the results of his practice session and likes how he is hitting the ball.  That all being said, hitting balls with a shorter iron is far from walking a full tournament (72 holes plus practice, plus whatever else).  But it's a lot closer to reality than anyone thought 24 hrs ago.
