I finally got around to looking at the final Q School Stage 1 leaderboard and there was one name that caused me to do a double-take.  Is the Shin Ae Ahn that finished at -2 the AKA Sharon Ahn?  If so, was this her first attempt at the LPGA Q-Series?  Is she even still a member of either the KLPGA or JLPGA?

Yes, that's Sharon. No, I don't believe it was her first go at Q Series (School). I don't believe she's had a card on either tour for a couple of years. She earned a card on the JLPGA Tour in late 2019 for the 2020 season.

Thanks for the confirmation and info!  Well, it certainly appears that she's been actively practicing even if she hasn't been playing on tour somewhere.  I hadn't seen her name anywhere for at least a few years, though my social media game isn't great.

She's been in the United States since April.  She attended the Masters.  Then she has been working with a US based coach in preparation.  I think she is based out of Las Vegas.

As bad as Yealimi Noh has been playing this season; Jillian Hollis was even worse when she's a regular LPGA member in 2021.  There aren't many sure thing in professional golf; but Jillion finishing close to DFL at each tournament was almost a certainty.

Glad to know that she's rebounded:

Is there an error in the "Race to CME Globe standings",

specifically w.r.t. for Maja Stark,

i.e. it shows "Number of Events Played = Zero" along with her 1 win?

...or is the Zero events played = because she wasn't formally an LPGA member prior to her win?

https://www.lpga.com/statistics/points/race-to-cme-globe-season?year=2022

Before I can get behind Chevron, is the CEO or board members part of Augusta National club or board ? lol  But I guess if the ladies are fine with a new sponsor taking basically the only historical thing left in the Women's game, then who am I to complain.  Whether the leap into Poppies Pond was stupid or not isn't what matters, you just removed one of your past legacy's for a few bucks.  I was told LIV players who cared about the money were ruining the game and also try removing history from the Men's game and see what happens.

Congrats to Paula Reto! Love love love it when the 'veterans' break through (and raise the average winning age) on the LPGA. Good for Lucy Li and Lindy Duncan getting into the Top 10 and making this week's field at the Dana Open. It was an especially meaningful week for Lindy, I think in the $$$ dept.

Speaking of the upcoming Dana Open, the current entry list shows Aza Munoz returning AND Paula Creamer. Will that hold up? Gia Clemente again trying to Monday qualify today. As usual, I'm scoring for this tournament. 😁

Monday Q's results: https://qs.lpga.com/reports/?tourn=TOLQ&report=https://preq.lpga.com/tic/tmscores.cgi?tourn=TOLQ~season=2022~params=P*1SRC01~

Gia Clemente successfully Monday qualified.

There were 19 entrants for the Monday Q's yesterday ...

which seems a lower number, vs the events earlier in the year (i saw ~50 entrants to the Monday Q's previously)

... wonder whether this is because the LET events are back on?

YES!!!  Second week in a row she finished 1st in the qualifier. 14 year old phenom..........let's hope she makes the cut this week. I'd LOVE to see her paired with Lexi but highly doubtful that will happen. I see many hometown folks from Warren, Ohio making the trip over to Toledo.😁

Looks like Yealimi is finally sitting one out.

Allisen Corpruz is having a fine rookie season, she's broken into the Rolex top 100 and currently sitting 31st in the season standings.

Paula who? In all fairness, I used to be a huge fan of hers when I started following the LPGA in 2006. Looked far and wide for a pic of her with the USWO trophy to hang in my office. However, soon I realized it was almost all style and no substance. She’s a phony in more ways than one as KBong would say.

Chevron has been doing a lot of good things:

CHEVRON ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR NEW ERA OF THE CHEVRON CHAMPIONSHIP

"Chevron has introduced a new $5,000 stipend for all players who miss the cut, with the goal of creating greater access by reducing the financial barrier to participation. To build upon the first-year impact of over $2 million in donations to non-profit organizations, Chevron will continue to extend and shine a light on foundations and community programs that advance women's excellence and STEM."
