Did I miss it again?

Man, those lofts are insane!  How do you do a combo FT/FTX set?  Have two '5' irons I guess?  Since the FTX 5iron is same loft as the FT.

Even so, the FT lofts seem awfully jacked.  Wasn't expecting to see a 29.5 deg 7 iron.

Did I miss it? I asked yesterday and just searched for the specs but I can't find anything. I just want the lofts from each set.

Will delete my post where I said the same thing. I get it but sucks for us that want to combo. This is the first time in a while where a combo set with cobra irons makes sense. Having two 4 or 5 Irons would be weird tho.

Nice! Me too. Did you hit both the forged tec and tec-x? If so, what was the biggest difference?

I hit both but went with the X.  The lower loft helped with my ball flight, height, land angle, etc.

My current 6 iron avg carry (with same loft as the X) was 193. With the X and Accra shaft it was 206. Dramatic.

can’t wait to get them next month.

This 6 iron is really like a 4 iron though with that loft. It doesn’t really matter what’s stamped on the bottom.

True, but at least most manufacturers are trying to throw a ton of weight towards the bottom of the club to increase launch, so that 6 iron will carry like a 4 iron but will still launch like a 6 iron and land with a decent amount of stopping power.

190 yards out, I’d much rather hit a 7 iron than a 5 iron regardless of loft, if I can get the right flight I’m all for it!

After looking at the specs I'm leaning towards the X model. May add a degree or two of loft depending on how it plays out in the fitting. Will need a heavier shaft so as long as the kbs $lite is a option with the X that should work just fine. Probably won't be much to choose from anyway considering the circumstances. Stock option in the x is just to lite. I hope the pga superstore starts getting these in early like CC.

I see your CC loft specs for the FTX match the stock Forged Tec lofts. Were you told you would be delofting the FTX two degrees?

You noticed that too? I called Cobra directly today to confirm lofts for the FTX. It seems that when I was fitted the clubs literally arrived while I was on the simulator so they didn't have all the correct information.

After speaking with Cobra, they shared the correct specs and the FTX are indeed 2 degree stronger than what I posted.

My set will be bent to the specs that I previously posted because those were the best spin, dispersion, distance, etc. combination for me personally.

It was taken down. They released it before cobra lifted the embargo

I saw it. They had all the three heads but didn't hit the one length. They had 6-iron heads. Heads looked really, really nice 🙂. The guy hitting them hit them nice and straight, and was pleased about the looks and kind of "blown away" about the ball speed numbers compared to his own current and past gamers.

From what I can gather from my somewhat photographic memory, the numbers were:

FT:   Ball speed 138, Carry 213, Total ~220, Launch: 13.something, Backspin: 4300, Apex: 98, Dispersion was something like 2 feet, very tight.

FTx: Ball speed 143, Carry 219, Total ~227, Launch: about 14, Backspin: 4500, Apex: 110, bigger dispersion, but good.

FT had/have 2 degree weaker loft in 6 iron.

FTx were easier to turn over, I think they discussed that that was usually the case with more forgiving game improvement irons. The hitter was very pleased with both and said that he could easily game the Forged Tecs.

That’s spot on from what I remember. He complemented the shape and feel as well.

Plz can someone when they're going in for a fitting or see them in store take some pics of the clubs (back, sole top line), I'm very interested to see what they look like besides from golf digest's crappy pics.

For those of you who have already tested out the new 2022 Cobra Forged Tec irons, how do they compare (feel, forgiveness, distance, overall shape, etc.) to the Mizuno Pro 225 irons?

Any intel would be much appreciated!

Just got fitted for these today (2022 Forged Tec), so of course I had to search around what people are saying about them.  They weren't even on my radar, but after trying just about everything in the players distance category (225, T200, Rogue ST Pro, ZX5, and i525), the Forged Tec came out way on top, and it wasn't even close.  I was about to stick with my old irons (PTx Pro), until the fitter put these clubs in my hand.  They felt amazing and launched like a rocket.  Nice high launch and not too high spin, with descent angle right on par with my existing 6-iron, even with the stronger lofts.  I've been chasing a bit more distance for a while as I'm not a super long player, and these fit the bill perfectly.  Got fit into a bit of an unusual shaft, so looks like I'll have to do some hunting to get all the pieces I need and not pay Club Champion prices!
