I'm dealing with trigger finger in my right hand - I get in the vehicle & turn on the steering wheel heater....usually a slow trip through the neighborhood before I can bend that middle finger.

Bring on the WARMTH

Congrats Obee....hopefully you'll have a pain free summer

Reading this post makes me happy! Got to love feeling good AND putting up 67. 🙂👏🏻

It is still cold, grey, and sopping wet here in western PA….so I’m waiting for two things. The weather, and for Ping to build my irons, and I’ll be back out there for the first time since the fall of 2018.

Awesome to hear Obee. I just finished my first round of the year and my back is doing good. I also have arthritis in my lower back. I've seen some of the stuff you're going through and it doesn't sound fun. Glad you've hopefully found a remedy.

Great to hear, @Obee ! Good to live in SoCal if warm weather helps you!

As for me, I grew up in Chicago and I'm a transplant here, so since I [thankfully] don't have back issues, Friday's weather was the exact time I prefer to be far away from a golf course. I much prefer the winter morning rounds that start at 50 degrees and get up to 65-70 by the time we're having beers at the 19th...

I have not. Just haven't read much in the literature that it's a proven method for alleviating pain from arthritis and stenosis.

I'm open to anything, though, including voodoo and crystal therapy.

Yea, inversion might not help the arthritis and stenosis. It does wonders for muscles and blood flow. I've had some customers with bad siatica and inversion really helped them.

Amazing what hot weather does for my back. Was 90ish degrees today where I live, and WOW, what a difference: Six birdies and an eagle today. Nice 5-under 67. Front nine was virtually pain-free. Back nine I was 85%.

More importantly, I was able to swing at the ball aggressively for the first time in at least a year. For comparison's sake, I have been carrying my 7h 135 yards. Today it was my 155 club.

I honestly thought that this was going to be the year where I wasn't even going to be able to play well during the warm months. That is how bad my back had gotten.

I guess arthritis and stenosis just hate the cold weather. I'm beside myself with joy. Going to celebrate tonight with a great dinner and some wine with the wife.

I know I am late to this party but glad to hear it--- Glad to know you are pain free---- I myself am doing good since I narrowed my stance and shortened my back swing. Last time I had pain was a month ago when I walked 18 because CPO--- I was stove up for about 3 days. On me the verdict is in no more CPO.

When you talk inversion are you talking about one of those teeter machines where basically you are on your head? I have been doing the opposite by doing a hang from like a rope in the tree with my legs dangling takes pressure off my back and feels good. My injury may be different from Obee though I broke both sides of the L-2 and collapsed the disc. Now structurally the docs say I am healed and the disc inflated itself back up. Still I have undetermined permanent nerve damage. When I did PT rehab my exercise goals were core strength. So what do you think?

Just something else to look at that no one tends to think of. I’ve had bulging disc and spinal stenosis for three years. What has helped the most recently and allowed me to finally hit the range was my sleep. I saw an ear nose and throat doctor and I have sleep apnea. My poor sleep wouldn’t allow my back to heal. I’ve been sleeping so much better with just a few changes and a nasal spray. Our next step is a cpap machine and I think it can improve more. I also rest with my feet elevated, I put 3-4 pillows under them and lie on my back. This has been incredible help as well. I do pt, chiro, steroid injections, and a slew of other stuff and nothing helped. Anyways, just think about it is all I wanna say, people disregard their sleep as something that can make a difference on your back. Cheers

I think inversion might do you a world of good. You don't need invert all the way. I never do. Also take it very slow getting back up and off the table. If you go to fast your back muscles can spasm and you'll find yourself on your hands and knees.

I am not a medical professional but can agree 110% on the CPAP machine. I have been on one some 12 years now. In fact my Neurologist when I first saw him noted and asked about mine. I told him I use it all the time. He told me rest and good sleep helped a lot on the healing end.

The two best purchases I've ever made was a tempurpedic adjustable bed and a CPAP. The Tempurpedic was expensive as hell but worth every penny.

I am working on getting one of those now--- I have a separate medical fund set up by the insurance company for expenses before my Medicare kicks in on September. Have to go through an administrator on it so I am in the process. All my Docs recommend it so it is now a matter of insurance company red tape

Alright! That’s great news. My ent doctor told me insurance(at least in my case) doesn’t  fight fixing a patients breathing/sleeping, he said they see it as an investment. I couldn’t believe that as I had to fight insurance the whole way on all my back stuff. Hope you have that kind of luck. Cheers

That is why I hired an attorney early in the process that specializes in work related back injuries
