Tour Titleist TSR2, TSR3 & TSR4 driver & TSR2, TSR2+ & TSR3 3 wood - 2022 Travelers

That's assuming standard length and stock settings. I obvioulsy can adjust the length and use the SureFit hosel to tweak things, just trying to think through where to start. I'm leaning toward 16.5. 

I have two setups I’m trying to decide myself with similar lofts as you. My buying an all Titleist bag Dr-Putter here is my two thoughts 

 

Here is the two different setups I thought about

The issue is that the 3w/4w are just lost clubs in my bag. I hit the driver pretty well that I rarely pull anything else to hit off tee. I’m not super long so I can’t reach a lot of Par 5 in two. So I just don’t know which setup to get. Also don’t know which head to get in 3w/4w. If I do use it off the tee I’m intrigued by 2+. I think it might be to deep of a head to have for off the deck only.

I can offer input on your last statement. I tend to do much better with shallow faced fairways off the deck. They are easier for me to launch. I was having some trouble with that with both TSR2 and 3. Maybe swingweight/shaft combo I just couldn’t time it right. 
 

First swing with TSR2+ (off beat up turf) it launched like my dogs hearing a doorbell. I had no problem at all hitting off the deck. It was a joy. I also have no fear of hitting off a tee either. It’s deep enough that I was totally taken aback with how good it was off the turf. Please try it before you decide against it!  It’s so good I became an instant TSR2+ evangelist.

Yes, that will be the biggest hurdle for mass adoption in my opinion. My fitter said he hit it as far as his driver and he didn’t need that. 
 

I figure if I start seeing that I can loft it up with the hosel settings. For me it flew high, but spin was such that I have room for it to increase before it becomes unplayable.

I was in store this weekend and they told me fitting will start 9/8 and on sale 9/28. But I think 9/30 is the actual launch so they might have just misquoted

I had to issues with the TSR2+ when I was fitting

1) I was hitting a much larger draw then I normally like (this is probably a me issue more then a TSR2+ issue)

2) I was hitting it within ~15 yards of my driver and was no tighter dispersion wise for me. I tend to drive the ball pretty well so it just didn't make sense for me personally. 

 

That said, anyone looking for a bomber fairway finder, the TSR2+ will probably be the ticket.

The reason for the woods it just have options off the tee if I need them. That covers all yardage gaps if I need too. I could just do Dr, 4&7  then into irons. 
 

there’s two gap wedges because the T100s Aw is 48, again I like to go 4* loft increments

Got my TSR2 & TSR2+ ordered today. Maybe this will finally be the 3 wood that takes the 915Fd out of the bag. Stealth Plus/TSR2+ & 915Fd are all going to be battling for it!

It'll be a problem for some, for sure. I had a 25+ yard gap between my driver and the TSR2+, but the one thing you won't get out of the 2+ is the mega-bomb. Off the tee on a par 5 or drivable par 4, I don't think you'll be able to grab that extra gear like you would with the driver. And given that it's quite a bit smaller, you just won't have as much forgiveness when you're reaching back for more yardage.

I ordered mine at 42.75"....not sure what std is but probably 43 - 43.25".

Standard length for the 3-wood is 43”. I made sure to verify that with my order. Driver is 45.5” FYI.

I have my fitting tomorrow for the fairway wood. I’m wanting tsr2+. Curious if you guys are using a higher launching shaft or same shaft as driver fit?  I’m thinking the iz would be amazing in this head.

For those that have had demos, are the TSR drivers launching higher than the TSi series ?  I'm very happy with my TSi2 11* but not sure if I should go 10* this time around ->  I plan to order both TSR2 and TSR3 drivers, test and game both, and decide on a winner.

Took out the TSr3 9 degree tonight (@ 9.75 D4). For the first few holes I had it set at 9 and just couldn’t elevate it how I wanted. Swapped settings on number 5 tee and it was perfect. Really enjoyed my Ventus Blue in it. Sound was nice and dull and never felt like I smoked it, but whenever I got to where my ball ended up, it was normal distance or farther. It was a soft day around here so not much roll out. Titleist 100% has a winner with this line. I’m still rocking my 915F and probably won’t change, but this TSr3 will be kicking the TSi2 out of the bag once I can get my hands on a retail model. Perks of working at a small shop, I can take the demo head out for a round or two. Cheers!

It’s the fairway wood adapter, so I just used my own 3-wood shaft for testing

I was able to get a bucket in today after they arrived in the mail. I’m coming from a TSi3 and TSi2 3 wood. Both are set at C2, with tensei AV blue 65x and 75x shafts. Based purely on just putting the new heads on the old shafts here are my thoughts:

 

Driver - TSR3 - actually has a deeper face and almost an original Taylormade Jetspeed - like shape to it. It definitely feels faster on the downswing and quicker through the ball. Sound is similar to the TSi3. Mishits seemed to stay on line a bit better. Not too painful on mishits. Didn’t have access to a launch monitor so I can’t give you numbers. All feel and visual based. I think a good step up from the previous model.

 

3wood - TSR 2 - this was definitely different in visual from the TSi2. Having the scoring lines back on the face gives it an almost 913fd look to it. A little higher launch than the TSi2, but seemed to have a better descending ball flight. 
 

Again this was just a first bucket synopsis. I’ll do some more testing. I hope everyone else has positive results!!
